Church scenes from the movie Sixth Sense were filmed here. I was lucky enough to be part of a wedding @ this beautiful church in Philadelphia, which has some interesting history. Built in 1796, it was originally burned down by the Know-Nothings in the 19th century who were afraid of immigrants (mostly Irish @ that time) but the back of the altar you see here survived with the words "The Lord Seeth". Today, St. Augustine is still a church community with lots of immigrants, but now many are Filipino-Americans.

When I was young taking the bus from Surrey to New Westminster was always an adventure. The only bus we could catch was the Pacific Stage Line and there was only one morning bus and inevitably we would have to run for it because my Mom was chronically late for everything :) The bus station was situated below the Royal Towers Hotel, seen in the right of this photo. In those days it was more upscale but it has become quite a dive now. After getting off the bus we would walk down 6th Street about three blocks and do our shopping. Going back up the hill to catch the bus home was filled with my sister and I whinging all the way up, " Mom, we're SO tired" :) She just ignored us and marched forward because if we missed the bus we would have to sleep in the bus station :)

The Sixth Cardinal of Krudhyn was known by the Dark Cardinal, the Master of the Black Order of Krudhyn, a powerful Mystic Order defending the return to the past and the glory of the ancient Krudhyn God Kings.

His connection with the dark spiritual forces and thirst for power was always very strong which led to his dismissal some time ago by the current monarch.

The deposed Cardinal was never able to forgive such an act and retired to the Monastery of the Ancients in the Khordh Mountains.

A look at the north side of the 300 block of E. Sixth St., part of Austin's Sixth Street Historic District listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The historic district, a.k.a. Old Sixth Street and Dirty 6th, runs east from Lavaca St. (2 blocks west of Congress Ave.) to I-35. While the Sixth St. entertainment district extends well past Congress Ave. to the west, and I-35 to the east, it is the historic section known for its clubs, bars, live music, restaurants, and 19th century architecture that made Austin the "Live Music Capital of the World."

Among the notable buildings in the 300 block of E. Sixth is the Ritz. Since the theater's opening in 1929, it has been used as a movie theater, music hall, club, and comedy house. It reopened after renovations in fall 2007 as the new downtown location for the Alamo Drafthouse. The venue temporarily closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was permanently closed in 2021 when the Alamo Drafthouse filed for bankruptcy.

Fortunately, the Ritz won't be closed for long as podcaster, comedian, actor, and color commentator and newly transplanted Austin resident Joe Rogan will reopen The Ritz later this year as the Comedy Mothership At The Ritz Theater.
