Cadyn & I met online in SL in 2010 and have been together ever since. Our 6th anniversary was Jan 5th and we celebrated today at Frank's. We're together in RL as well

Underneath the 6th street bridge leading out to the Los Angeles Aqueduct (Viaduct) which unites the Boyle Heights community to the east and the Arts District and Downtown (DTLA) to the west.

Erected in 1932, the 6th Street Viaduct Bridge became an icon, winding up in movies such as Terminator, The Mask, Repo Man, SWAT, Grease, Armed and Dangerous, Batman, and many others. It has also been featured in numerous music videos (Madonna, INXS, Bruno Mars, Kanye West) and television shows. You will even see it if you play Grand Theft Auto. In 1986, this Hollywood icon was entered on the National Register of Historic Places.

Despite its historical status, the bridge was closed for demolition and replacement last month due to concerns over seismic instability. Demolition began just 5 days ago (5 days after this photo was taken).

And here is the future of the bridge:

Got this LE shot of Sixth Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh at the blue hour. Tried to capture the light trails from the traffic and the old architecture from the buildings in this shot.

this is new , because in this moc instead of building it in my usual way that is complex , in this case I had the ' idea of making a simpler but at the same time dasse a certain effect ..

the name derives from the sixth element of the periodic table which is carbon , and in fact its armor is made of carbon , I have chosen the carbon because it is a fairly light material so as to move more quickly , but at the same time is also resistant so it will better absorb the blows .

Less than a mile from the Logan depot, the Cache Valley Local rolls northward along Sixth West street through an industrial park.

At this location, the right of way (or is it fright of way?) flips to the east side of the two lane road, making passage a bit of a nail biter for the engineer and conductor. Flashing lights would certainly help.

Yesterday at lunch time, as the snow came steadily down, I snapped a quick shot of Sixth Ave here in Manhattan.

Laura was kind enough to humor me and hold the umbrella as I waited for the right moment to snap the shutter - and before all those taxis ran us down!

Nope, we ain't in Saint Lucia anymore!

The Theatre of Dionysus is an ancient Greek theatre in Athens. It is built on the south slope of the Acropolis hill, originally part of the sanctuary of Dionysus Eleuthereus. The first orchestra terrace was constructed on the site around the mid- to late-sixth century BC, where it hosted the City Dionysia. The theatre reached its fullest extent in the fourth century BC under the epistates of Lycurgus when it would have had a capacity of up to 17,000, and was in continuous use down to the Roman period.

For the sins of His own nation,

She saw Jesus wracked with torment,

All with scourges rent:

She beheld her tender Child,

Saw Him hang in desolation,

Till His spirit forth He sent.

CLOSER

THEN GOD SAID / "Let the earth bring forth living creatures of all kinds, cattle and creeping things and beasts of the field." So it happened.

THEN GOD SAID / "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness."

So God created man in His own image. Male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moves on land.

THEN GOD SAID / "I have given you every plant around the world, carry the seeds, and every tree with seed-bearing fruit.

To you it shall be for meat."

God saw everything that He had made, and it was very good. It became evening and it became morning / the sixth day.

When we first arrived in Rapid City, South Dakota for a family reunion in July 2015, we stayed at the main downtown “Alex Johnson” hotel; and we walked along Sixth Street to dinner that evening with two of our family members. On the way back after dinner, I happened to notice the garish glow of graffiti on a side alley next to the hotel, and I took a couple of quick photos in the twilight, thinking that it might be worth exploring in more detail the next day.

Indeed, I did go back for a quick second look the next morning, but then we had to pack up and check out of the hotel, in order to drive to the rendezvous point near Spearfish (near Deadwood and Sturgis, and in the general vicinity of Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills) where dozens of members of our extended family were planning to meet us. But when the reunion was over a few days later we drove back to Rapid City, and changed our hotel plans in order to stay at the Alex Johnson for one last night before our early flight back to New York City the next morning.

As a result, I had time for a much more thorough walk-through of the alley and its rich display of art on my final afternoon. I asked the front-desk clerk at the hotel if she knew anything about it, and she pointed me to a young man at the valet parking desk near the front entrance; there I learned that Rapid City is one of only three such spots in the country, where artist-inspired graffiti is not only tolerated, but legally allowed. Here is the website that explains more:

www.visitrapidcity.com/things-to-do/arts-culture/art-alle...

The Website provides much more detail, and in much more cogent form, than I could in these notes; so if you’re curious, I urge you to click on the link. But if you would like to see what the art looks like, in all its vivid colors, take a look at the images in this album.
