Since 1956 the Tee-Off has been Santa Barbara’s traditional “old school” neighborhood steakhouse and lounge ......... a very cool joint !

Ever since 1851, the New York Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion,69th Infantry Regiment has been the parade's first march unit, and this year, they marked its 171st time leading the Annual New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, on a rainy March 17, 2022, in New York City. The regiment's officers start the day with a toast of Irish whiskey, and since 2016 they have used their very own "The Fighting 69th Whiskey" for the occasion. Seems like ages since I've had the opportunoty to get out for a sunrise but that was rectified this morning. With another day of visiting ahead of me I decided to stay local and head for the familiar ground of Seaton Sluice. Checking out signs of possible tog activity in the area I spotted Steves car parked at Charley's Garden so I decided to give hime some company. This shot was taken later in the shoot when we had both relocated to the rocks just to the north of Collywell Bay. When you see frozen pools of salt water it proves just how cold it is.

Christians have worshipped on this site since the Middle Ages, and this church is probably the fifth to be built here.

The current church building stands rebuilt following the destruction in the Blitz of 1941.

The first church may date back as far as the 12th century, with the 14th century seeing the rebuilding of St Mary's in the decorated Gothic style, and by 1343 it is known to have contained at least two subsidiary chapels dedicated to St Anne and the Holy Trinity.

There were extensive changes to the interior during the Reformation, with vestments being abandoned and worship offered in English or Welsh. By 1700 serious weaknesses were starting to appear in the fabric of the building, culminating with the collapse of the nave in 1739. The replacement nave was small and cheap. A new organ was added in the 1760s, gas lighting in the early 1820s, and bells in 1720 and 1879.

In the 1890s the church was reconstructed when the 14th century chancel and tower with the 18th century nave were replaced by a unified early English gothic design of Sir Arthur Blomfield. Blomfield's church burned to the ground in February 1941 during the blitz. The present church was consecrated in 1959 following the original blueprint. The church today has many examples of contemporary stained glass and design.

Founded nearly a millennium ago and expanded upon over the centuries since, the Tower of London has protected, housed, imprisoned and been for many the last sight they saw on Earth.

It has been the seat of British government and the living quarters of monarchs ... the site of renown political intrigue, and the repository of the Crown Jewels ... It has housed lions, bears, and (to this day) flightless ravens ... not to mention notorious traitors and framed members of court, lords and ministers, clergymen and knights.

Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, more commonly known as the Tower of London, is a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London, England. It lies within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, separated from the eastern edge of the City of London by the open space known as Tower Hill. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078, and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite. Since at least 1100, the castle has been used as a prison, although that was not its primary purpose. A grand palace early in its history, it served as a royal residence. As a whole, the Tower is a complex of several buildings set within two concentric rings of defensive walls and a moat. There were several phases of expansion, mainly under Kings Richard the Lionheart, Henry III, and Edward I in the 12th and 13th centuries. The general layout established by the late 13th century remains despite later activity on the site.

A Romanesque basilica dedicated to Saint Nicholas had existed at the southeastern corner of the Dresden market since the early twelfth century, documented about 1168. A Side-chapel of the Cross, named after a relic bequeathed by the Meissen margravine Constance of Babenberg (1212–1243), was first mentioned in 1319. Over the decades, it became the name of the whole church, which was officially dedicated on 10 June 1388 to the Holy Cross.

From 1401 it was rebuilt as a hall church with a prominent westwork in the German Sondergotik style. Based on the architectural works by Peter Parler (1330–1399), the construction later served as a model for numerous church buildings in Upper Saxony such as St. Anne's Church, Annaberg-Buchholz or St. Wolfgang's Church, Schneeberg. Finished about 1447/49, the church burned down in 1491, the first of five blazes over the next centuries. The Wettin electors of Saxony, residing at Dresden since 1464, had the Gothic hall church rebuilt, from 1499 under the architectural direction of Conrad Pflüger. From 1579 until 1584 the westwork was restored in a Renaissance style.

The church was heavily damaged by Prussian cannonade during the Seven Years' War, with its Late Gothic choir almost completely destroyed. After the war, the Dresden master builder Johann George Schmidt (1707-1774) set up plans for a Baroque reconstruction, which however were opposed by contemporary architects of the Neoclassicist school following Zacharias Longuelune (1669-1748). Prince Francis Xavier of Saxony backed Schmidt and laid the foundation stone in 1764, nevertheless, after the preserved westwork collapsed in 1765, Schmidt had to accept the Neoclassicist chief architect Friedrich August Krubsacius (1718-1789) as adviser. Choir and steeple were accomplished in 1788, the new church was consecrated in 1792 and construction works finished in 1800.

Interior

After the building was gutted by a fire in 1897, the church interior was reshaped with Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) elements according to plans designed by the Dresden architects Schilling & Graebner including works by Hans Hartmann-MacLean. The Church of the Cross was again set on fire during the Bombing of Dresden on 13 February 1945. In its current form with its sober scratch coat interior, it was re-opened in 1955. In the course of the reconstruction of the nearby Frauenkirche a debate arose over a restoration of the pre-war design, however, from 2000 to 2004, the interior was refurbished in its 1955 condition.

The director of the choir is known as the Kreuzkantor. Roderich Kreile is the twenty-eighth Kreuzkantor since the Reformation.

Since we cannot have any personal electrical device inside of the cubicles at work, and I don't really like the industrial coffee maker that they have here, I decided to buy this "old school" type cone filter. Basically, I put in a #4 filter with enough coffee grind and pour hot water into it. A few minutes later, I have a good cup of coffee. This gets away from having stale or burnt coffee from the industrial coffee makers. I had tried the French press before, but it makes too much of a mess to clean it up every time...

Since I will be ordering my first SD soon, I was looking for a suitable wig. I found this lovely wig from the Monique Gold Collection. Ofcourse I had to go see what it would look like on my other dolls!

When I bought this wig at Think Pink, Marcia joked that it would be too big for my Puki puki Ukkie. Since it's a girly wig I had Malina try it on as soon as I got home!

You know, this wig is big enough to fit two puki's at once... Heck, three would still fit with ease

If you like my work and wanna show it by inviting me to one of your groups, you are very welcome to do that, but please do not leave any graphic logos! I'll delete them.

“Things have been very difficult since my husband passed away, but with hard work and help we make it through” says Nyamkhuu, a middle aged woman in the Terelj National Park in Mongolia. Her and her husband have been herding cattle and yaks for many years to provide for their family. But after her husband passed away in 2011, she has had to carry a heavy load. Nyamkhuu has three children, the youngest Sarnai (pictured), is only 18 months old. She provides for them by continuing her cattle herding and selling dairy products such as Aaruul, a dried milk curd that is a food staple to many Mongolians. Nyamkhuu has been a client of VisionFund Mongolia for years but since her husband passed she has appreciated the additional resources that they provide even more. Nyamkhuu’s mom Yura (pictured) has been a huge help during this tough time. She helps bake the Aaruul, milk the cattle and take care of Sarnai. With her mom’s help, loans from VisionFund Mongolia and most importantly hard work and perseverance, Nyamkhuu has been able to send her children to school and provide money for her entire family.

Since 2012 I have taken it upon myself to embark upon the some might say foolhardy endeavour to wrestle Valentine’s Day away from its saccharine, cellophane wrapped cliches into a festival of love which is about all kinds of love, just like those wise old ancient Greeks told us

I decided to do that the first year by dashing around London with my mates Asif and Chris dispensing home-made Valentine Day cards, cakes and other love themed items to unsuspecting strangers. It was amazing. You can see a little film of that day here: vimeo.com/58022085

Since then, every year, I put a shout out on social media to anyone who knows anyone who would appreciate a card to remind them that they are loved. So far, I have made and posted 600 Valentine’s cards. I have also covered railings, phone boxes, windows and park benches with paper hearts, chalked love poems onto roads and written love poems with seniors in sheltered housing.

if you see this, and you fancy it, join in!

Write to someone you love who you might not tell enough, someone who needs to be reminded that they are loved, especially if they are lonely or having a difficult time at the moment. Could be your partner, your sibling, your best friend, your nan, your newsagent, your teacher . Think about who might need this the most right now. You can write a letter, postcard, hand make a card, send a postcard, the “rules” are:

The “Rules”

Post it with an actual stamp if this is possible for you- why? Just because it is so much nicer getting stuff that isn’t bills through the post.

Take your time with what you want to say and make it personal, think about how they will feel when they receive it (obvious I know but we all do things too quickly sometimes)

Ask them to pass the love on by writing in turn to someone they love and telling them so, and so beginning a love chain, which may, if we are lucky, never end, reminding us all of who we love and how much we are loved

(if you need it, here are some suggested words: “hope you like your message- I am trying to do my bit to pass love around the world- if you can please write to someone you love too, and we can keep this love chain travelling round the world and make sure everyone knows how much they are loved”

Summing up (because I know I go on a bit!)

1.Write to someone and tell them you love them. Post or hand deliver your message.

2.Ask them to do the same

3.Remind yourself of the things you love about yourself too*

* Let’s not forget this one : philautia (self love): as well as writing to someone to tell them you love them, take a moment this V Day to think about what you love about yourself. This can feel squirmy sometimes, try just thinking of 3 things to start with (3 is a magic number) that you love about yourself. If you find it hard to think of things, that’s ok, ask a good friend to help you think of things. Loving ourselves is important too.

“The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform, to love and to be greater than our suffering.” Ben Okri

“And may your first love last forever.

P.S. You are your first love. Take care of yourself.”

Cleo Wade

Temporarily out of order since 2002, St Stephen's Basilica, Budapest, Hungary

The St Stephen's Basilica was made accessible during the reconstruction of 1983-2003. The elevator was opened in April, 2002. The Hungarian Government funded the construction of the elevator to provide access to the main gate. The total cost of the elevator was 7.6 million Hungarian Forint (30400 EUR or 47500 USD). The sponsors' names were recorded on a commemorative bronze plaque on the upper end of the elevator.

The elevator had an "ignition key" to turn it on. The church guards had the key. They were upstairs. No bell was installed. There was no indication on how to use it.

Since October, 2002 the elevator has been out of order. (An expensive part broke, the church representative said in April, 2004.) An "out of order" sign was placed on the elevator in 2008, it was put on the upper end of the elevator.

The plaque with the sponsors' name disappeared.

(I'm always surprised why the elevator was installed to give access to the main gate, because this is the largest staircase of the building. Using one of the side entrances, builders could have made the building accessible by short ramps instead.)

Since the guanaco is a staple in the diet of puma in Patagonia, they must constantly be on guard as they move through the grasslands of Torres del Paine National Park in the southern Andes of Chile. The guanaco is a llama-like creature. Hikers come across the remains of many a guanaco that has become prey to puma as they hike through the mountain trails of the park.

Since that DISH Network L.L.C is could be the company that could have the annoying commercial with a satellite dish strolling around the house in the dark with extremely annoying music just like the Vengaboys song We Like to Party driving everybody nuts and reminding them of T.R. Chula's white saliva on the first half of 2006 and I never ever wanted that commercial and that annoying music to come back and I never ever want anything to go on T.R. Chula's white saliva so I hear by DISH Network L.L.C MUST BE BANNED AND GET SHUT DOWN FOR GOOD and MUST HAVE Rauland Telecenter and Canadian TV providers take over DirecTV and DISH Network just like having electric mechanical wall bells taking over Bogen Multicom 2000 and we MUST CONVERT ALL DISH Network offices into Nelvana studios or DeVry College of Technology campuses. So T.R. Chula the evil Tarantula from Fievel Goes West MUST BE BURNED TO ASHES in a FIRE and extinguish his white saliva for good. The Vengaboys song, We like to Party MUST BE BANNED and never ever get revived in the future because this song annoys people very bad and reminds them of T.R. Chula's white saliva and I never ever want anything on T.R. Chula's white saliva and especially in 2004, they introduced the worst and most creepy mascot to Six Flags who was called Mr. Six who will also be banned too because he danced to this annoying song we all hate and this is one of the reasons why Six Flags MUST SHUT DOWN forever and get replaced by Corbeil School Bus Manufacturing Plants and we want the world to be a friendlier place too not with this annoying song by the Vengaboys. This song doesn't only annoy me this song also annoys Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Buffett. Mr. Six the mascot of Six Flags of 2004 MUST BE BANNED and NEVER EVER get revived in the future because Mr. Six is so bald, annoying, and freaky and freaks people out and have killed the happiness of the late 1990s which is getting restored forever. And Mr. Six have danced to the worst annoying song we all hate which is called "We Like to Party" and also have restored the worst Tom and Jerry cartoon "Tom and Jerry: The Movie" with some bratts were getting bad advice from this movie with convience taking over good old fashioned traditional stuff is the exaggerated house demolition in 1992's Tom and Jerry the movie with a pear-shaped wrecking ball destroying the beautiful old fashioned living house and replacing it with a garage full of ice cream trucks with the bad old outdated confusing misleading red trapezoid children slow crossing warning blades that word IF-SAFE STOP THEN-GO which is extremely mean-spirited and is a yield sign that says stop which is extremely wrong and confusing to people who are deaf, color blind, can't read, or don't speak English. Also old fashined traditional stuff are extremely important not just conviences. Good thing I am making safety collaborations by updating all ice cream trucks to all have the current updated yellow trapezoid children slow crossing warning blades that word children slow crossing and or school bus swing arm stop signs which are octagon shaped especially I know for a fact in all traffic signs the shape is the most important not just the word and color especially in all stop signs the octagon shape is the most important not just the word and color in the 2000s when McDonald's had super-size which made our economy gone bad. So when Mr. Six gets Banned we will all tear apart the Six Flags buses used in the Six Flags commercial when Mr. Six was the masscot as new playplace play equipments for McDonald's restaurants and we will also smash the music box inside of these Six Flags buses into pieces so we will never ever hear that annoying song "We like to Party" ever again. So T.R. Chula the evil tarantula from Fievel Goes West MUST BE BURNED INTO ASHES IN A FIRE and extinguish his white saliva for good. Tom and Jerry: The Movie (1992) MUST BE BANNED never ever get revived in the future because Tom and Jerry: The Movie (1992) does have an upsetting unrealistic house demolition with an old fashioned pear-shaped wrecking ball destroying a beautiful old fashioned living house because of it being decades old ruining nostalgia and ruining my golden toddlerhood and abused many Blue's Clues Steve fans making them think the wrecking ball destroyed the handy dandy notebooks which we all love because the destroyed house at the beginning of Tom and Jerry: The Movie (1992) does look slightly identical to the Blue's Clues House and now even the destroyed Handy Dandy Notebooks are getting mended back together. So I hereby Tom and Jerry: The Movie (1992) to BE BANNED FOREVER due to abusing Blue's Clues Steve Fans like me. Tom and Jerry: The Movie MUST BE BANNED because it has an unrealistic house demolition with a very bad old fashioned wrecking ball that upsets people so bad and abused many Blue's Clues Steve Fans and some bratts were getting bad advice from this movie with convience taking over good old fashioned traditional stuff is the exaggerated house demolition in 1992's Tom and Jerry the movie with a pear-shaped wrecking ball destroying the beautiful old fashioned living house and replacing it with a garage full of ice cream trucks with the bad old outdated confusing misleading red trapezoid children slow crossing warning blades that word IF-SAFE STOP THEN-GO which is extremely mean-spirited and is a yield sign that says stop which is extremely wrong and confusing to people who are deaf, color blind, can't read, or don't speak English and polluting the environment and putting Eastern cottontail rabbits extinct. Also old fashined traditional stuff are extremely important not just conviences. Good thing I am making safety collaborations by updating all ice cream trucks to all have the current updated yellow trapezoid children slow crossing warning blades that word children slow crossing and or school bus swing arm stop signs which are octagon shaped especially I know for a fact in all traffic signs the shape is the most important not just the word and color especially in all stop signs the octagon shape is the most important not just the word and color.

. Similar to modern Simpsons (seasons 19 and Later) 1992's Tom and Jerry the movie is another bad media showing convience taking over good important traditional stuff with a pear-shaped wrecking ball destroying a beautiful old fashioned living house and replace the house with convient high rise appartment building with a garage full of ice cream trucks with the bad old oudated confusing misleading red trapezoid children slow crossing warning blades that word IF-SAFE STOP THEN-GO which was mean-spirited and ruining my golden toddlerhood. In the 2000s, Warner Bros reviving 1992's Tom and Jerry the movie and and selling too many DVD copies of that movie surpassing Corduroy the Bear and his buttons was all McDonald's corporation and Bogen Communication's fault because the super size at McDonald's was brainwashing many people by reviving the bad old 1992 Tom and Jerry movie and popularizing Bogen Multicom 2000 and their mean spirited bell tones that are haunted chimes that don't sound like a bell at all scaring off kids especially kids with autism and making them not want to go to school and abandoning my golden toddler stuff like Corduroy the Bear with two buttons on his green corduroy overalls but good thing I am undoing all of the bad influence the super size gave us by restoring my golden toddlerhood, safety improvements, kindness improvements, reviving Nelvana's version of Corduroy the Bear with the premiere of Two Buttons again and Forever fixing Betty Quan's upsetting mistake for good by showing that they did get Corduroy's button out of the storm drain and put Corduroy's button back on Corduroy the Bear's green corduroy overalls and that corduroy the bear does have two buttons on his green corduroy overalls forever and bringing back all nostalgic inducing stuff like green chalkboards and electric mechanical wall bells etc and create a nostalgic inducing future. So this is why all broadcasts of The Simpsons MUST BE BY LAW MANDATED to be ONLY reruns of classic Simpsons (first 18 seasons of The Simpsons). This is why all schools MUST BE BY LAW MANDATED to be set up like Middleborough, Hilltop School from Timothy Goes to School, and or my DeVry building in North Brunswick, NJ and all with green chalkboards, electric mechanical wall bells, and Corbeil school buses and other school buses with electric stop arms, and only kind-spirited stuff like Disney Snow White and Pinocchio stuff and Corduroy the Bear with two buttons on his green corduroy overalls and Steve Notebooks etc, and no mean-spirited stuff like Bogen Multicom 2000 and that mean scary looking grumpy face with the freaky spikey eyelashes and triangular eyes and razor blade forehead wrinkles they used to have on Gordon in the old live action model version of Thomas and Friends and no processed foods in the school lunches. This is why McDonald's restaurants MUST BE BY LAW MANDATED to be McEyebrows with the yellow and orange striped awnings, arch wedge the new aluminum exterior I have created, or the original 1970s version of the iconic double sloped mansard roof and better and safe updated indoor PlayPlaces with low and safe steps and slides and green chalkboards and or just the dining room option (no playplace), This is why all ice cream trucks MUST BE BY LAW MANDATED to be all updated to the current updated yellow trapezoid children slow crossing warning blades that word CHILDREN SLOW CROSSING and or school bus stop signs and that all ice cream trucks MUST BE BY LAW MANDEDTED TO GET RID of the bad old outdated red trapezoid children slow crossing warning blades that word IF-SAFE STOP THEN-GO for good, This is why Crayola Crayon boxes MUST BE BY LAW MANDATED to be new modern 1997 boxes. This is why school PA systems MUST BE BY LAW MANDATED to be Rauland Telecenter or PA systems with no bell tones. And this is why Nelvana and Hanna-Barbera MUST TAKE OVER Warner Bros. Animation. The reality is that demolition are based on how bad the building is damaged not on how old the building is like in 1992's Tom and Jerry the movie. And River TV and other Canadian TV providers of Ontario will expand in the USA to Take over DirecTV and Dish Network.

Since I really don't feel like taking pictures outside in the 35 degree F weather, Moira and Molly's winter photos have to be done in the living room. Since we don't have enough winter jackets to go around, I don't think they minded too much!

Molly's outfit was one of my AG weak moments on ebay. The listing said that it was a school uniform outfit. I think it's really cute! The tights have a lot of little knobbies on them, but they still stay up. Purple is my favorite color by far, so I like being able to dress one of my AG girls in it!

Why in Mexico City?

It became the first capital which I visited in America, the highest city I ever visited and my first American civilization which I’m planning to explore more close. It was my dream since my childhood to investigate Aztecs civilization and this desire became stronger after reading some books with new versions about American ancient civilizations. Besides that I liked an American epic action-adventure film directed by Mel Gibson “Apocalipto”.

And the last reason: it is summer here when winter is in Moscow, but in January it isn't very hot.

Since the early 1920’s, famous movie stars like Hopalong Cassidy, Gene Autry and the Lone Ranger have been shooting it out at Alabama Hills. In 1969, the BLM dedicated nearly 30,000 acres of public land west of Lone Pine, California, as the Alabama Hills Recreation Area. The rounded, oddly shaped contours of the Alabama Hills form a sharp contrast to the glacially chiseled ridges of the nearby Sierra Nevada. Both landforms consist of a similar granitic rock that was uplifted around 100 million years ago.

The Alabama Hills lie west of Death Valley National Park, so it’s an easy trip for park visitors. And the Alabama Hills also lie at the base of Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the lower 48, which adds to the spectacular landscape. The BLM and the Alabama Hills Stewardship Group care for this area with the goal of preserving the hills in as close as natural state as possible for the enjoyment of future generations. A one-of-a-kind road trip!

Since launching in 2012, the Medical Radiography program at Camosun College has graduated about 135 students from nine cohorts, with two more in the wings.

Since we'll be experiencing near freezing temps for the next several days and not warming all that much (makes the old bones hurt) I took advantage of the warmest day of the week to get in an early Birthday Ride.

History

During the Reformation, over and over again in Hannover there had been riots between Old Believers and Lutherans. When they escalated in 1533, fled on 14 September of the same year the mayor and almost all councilors in the neighboring Catholic Hildesheim. Died the Catholic life in Hannover, especially since the city council in 1588 the Catholics also deprived the right to live in the old town.

As 1665 Duke Johann Friedrich ascended the ducal throne of Hanover, the situation changed since Johann Friedrich four years earlier at a visit to Assisi converted to the Catholic faith. Court staff, most of all French and Italians, formed the small Catholic community and celebrated Christmas 1665 under the direction of Valerio Maccioni - his epitaph is situated in the crypt of the Basilica - the first Catholic worship after the Reformation. On December 28, 1679 Johann Friedrich died, his younger brother Ernst August took over the government. Although he changed the right of public worship for Catholics in a private right and had the castle church for there until then celebrated Catholic worship closed, nevertheless he promised freedom of religion, allowing the construction of a Catholic Church.

Meanwhile was - outside the city walls of Hanover, "before the gate Aegidientore" - on a part of the local "Father garden" from 1669 the Catholic St. John's cemetery laid out. It is said only four years later in 1673 to be consecrated and named after its ducal founder.

The repeatedly-delayed church construction, however, then the Italian priest, composer and diplomat Agostino Steffani brought forward. Steffani had entered 1688 as Court conductor the service of Ernst August. 1707 he received episcopal ordination in Bamberg and in April 1709 the Vicariate of Upper and Lower Saxony to him was transferred.

Steffani transferred to his compatriot Tommaso Giusti planning and construction management of the new church. Giusti designed a Venetian dome flanked by two towers. To dome and towers eventually had to be renounced for lack of finances. Patron of the first post-Reformation Church of Hanover was the namesake of the then reigning Pope, St. Clement of Rome. Background: Pope Clement XI had commited himself in a special way for the construction of the church and collected money for its financing.

After the destructions caused by the bombings on Hannover in World War II, the church was according to designs of architect Otto Fiederling 1947-1957 rebuilt (for almost 1.7 million deutschmarks). Only now, the originally planned dome and the stocky bell towers were completed in modern forms. Preparatory work began yet in 1946, and on November 23, 1949 the topping-out ceremony could be celebrated. On November 24, 1957 St Clement was consecrated by the then apostolic nuncio Aloysius Muench. On 12 March 1998, Pope John Paul II the church with the Apostolic Letter Inter sacras raised to the rank of a minor basilica.

1967-1986 was Auxiliary Bishop Heinrich Pachowiak Episcopal Vicar at St Clement. His successor as provost was to 1996 Joop Bergsma.

Since 1 September 2010, the Basilica belongs to the parish of St Henry (Heinrich).

Geschichte
