Since January 1st 2010, I have been taking and uploading one square picture each day.

Each month I make a 5x5 mosaic, so a few images will be dropped to leave a nice neat 25.

See 49th and 50th picture !!!

Since the end of 2015 it can legally be used for graffiti art.

Since today marks the 55th anniversary of the Burlington Northern merger, I figured today would be the perfect day to post today's find. BN 12395, a cupola caboose built in April 1981, sits at BNSF Saint Joseph Yard on a nice March afternoon. Being that this yard was once served by the BN, and before that the CB&Q, seeing this almost completely untouched caboose still wearing cascade green felt like I was stepping back in time. A true time capsule and reminder of better days being trackside.

Bright suns, travelers!

Ever since building and sharing my miniature diorama of the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge layout based on the early Imagineering concept art in 2016 (long before the official name had been announced and many referred to the developing expansions at the time as “Star Wars Land,”) I had convinced myself that I was going to build larger, minifigure-scale sections of Batuu once the land was open and the details of Black Spire Outpost could be experienced up close and personal.

After pouring through as many reference photos, videos, and concept art as I could get my hands on, I now present a minifg-scale display of the entrance/facade to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction, home of Ohnaka Transport Solutions.

With the iconic Millennium Falcon docked out front of the curved hangar bay, beneath the rocky spires of an alien world, this section of Galaxy’s Edge is perhaps what we all think of when we think of a perfect amalgamation of the visual aesthetics of not only the Galaxy’s Edge experience, but Star Wars in general. I worked diligently to capture all the details I could pack in at this scale, attempting to blend the natural landscape of the Batuu spires with the weathered and lived-in hangar building. Using the 75257 version of the Falcon (with some minor exterior modifications and added greebles), the rest was built up and around to create a bustling corner of Black Spire Outpost for Hondo Ohnaka to conduct his smuggling operations, while avoiding the suspicion of the First Order patrols.

Thanks for checking out my design! Good journeys to you all— Til the spire!

Since I traveled to Seattle with a buddy of mine, I unfortunately couldn't be there for the whole event. During the couple of days I did spend there, I had a great time. Although this is the first US event I attended, the quality of the builds seemed pretty high. It's a shame the space section wasn't really prepared for such an invasion. Builds tended to get swamped a little.

Speaking of builds, there were too many good ones to list favorites. Of course a couple of builds stood out for me, but that's based on personal preference and seems pointless to list. I would like to address some people though, because in the end it's really the people that make such an event worth going to.

Thanks to rphilo004 for the awesome mini Feros tanker. I'll have a photo of it escorting the big brother up soon. Also thanks to you and ktorrek for letting me tag along for some greek lunch.

jon1138, awesome to have met you. And again, congratulations on your trophy. I eagerly await your next build.

Thanks to xtopher98 for running a clandestine mission for me, and for generally being a nice guy and obvious lego talent.

Thanks to si-mocs for the awesome rendition of the Super Banshee II. It's flying in formation with its kin on my bookshelf.

pasukaru76, great to have finally met you face to face. Taylor, nice talking to you, and thanks for taking the time to let me stumble in a foreign language ;) Can't believe I wasn't following you on Flickr.

And last but not least a big thanks to Nick and Adelle for always making me feel welcome in the US.

The 55th Annual Clam Festival, which was canceled due to the pandemic, would have taken place this weekend. And during every Clam Festival, they hold the annual Clam Festival Bike Race on Sunday morning. I have photographed that bike race almost every year since 2008, and in honor of the canceled festival and canceled bike race, I'm posting this photo from the 2009 Clam Festival Bike Race. Photo taken with a Pentax K100D and Vivitar RL Edition 28mm F2.8.

Since not everyone can get their hand on MODCOMs, some of us have to make them ourselves. : ) AKU-12 on the left, AK-12 with that weird Chinese 3.4 optic on the right.

3 girls left. 2 places in the finale. You do you want to see in the finale?

Kyle, the girl that from day 1 dominated the competition but hasn't been on the top lately?

Jia, the asian power that has been the most consisting girl here but hasn't really given that wow factor many times?

Aroon, the girl who was a nightmare to shoot in the beginning and was eliminated but got a second chance and has getting better and better since that?

This week the girls had 2 types of beauty shoots. One soft and effortless and one hard and super fierce.

You have the power to vote 1 girl to the finale. How do you vote? Easy, just leave a comment. Write the girl you think deserves to be in the finale. I will choose between the other 2.

So what are you waiting for, vote now!

Since these things hardly ever land or perch during the breeding season, I figured I'd try to shoot one on the wing. Ha! Easier said than done. With this male, once I realized that he had established a territory and that I could exploit his patrol route, all I had to do was stay with him for 30 minutes or so shooting bursts at him as he would pass by. It took a while, but it was fun trying, and the AF on my new 5DM4 was smart enough to actually do the job. This could open a whole new world for me.

So, since I joined Flickr, there have been many changes that have taken place over the years. There are pros and cons to the changes that have occurred. One of the pros to the changes is that there is far more traffic/views of my photostream. However, one of the main drawbacks that I see is that Flickr feels a lot less like a social networking website for photographers -- which is really what it was all about in the early stages of its infancy.

I've always enjoyed the feedback of the many photographers that I admire and look up to here on Flickr. Unfortunately, I hardly ever get any constructive criticisms or pointers from these people anymore. Granted, I could always email and message them for advice... But, it didn't used to be that way. In many ways it feels like that "Flickr magic" has diminished if not disappeared altogether. I have grown so much as a photographer simply by seeing others' work and receiving amazing pointers from them on how to accomplish the things I wanted to in photography.

Unfortunately, this incredible resource may not give up-and-coming photographers/artists the same step up that it once gave me. It's too bad really, and I feel bad for them. I guess ignorance is bliss... but just because they don't know that they're missing out on something, doesn't mean that they aren't missing out on something.

let's not forget this :)

i've been so focused on christmas lately that i was totally astonished to hear that we will also have new year's eve in ten days!

My favourite rose; a Heritage Rose, raised by Joseph Rambaux and still producing flowers. Now fully open and looking beautiful in winter sunshine! This is from the fourth flowering period and has gradually been opening since the beginning of November! Wonderful fragrance!

Since the end of loco-hauled intercities between Luxembourg and Liège, CFL class 3000 is almost exclusively used on local trains between Luxembourg and Arlon. The other classmates are deployed on freight.

There has been a restlessness since acquiring my macro lens and with the weather patterns in CT. as of late resembling the effects of an aftermath from a nuclear holocaust, I decided to take over my kitchen table for closeup & macro work. I can see it now, I’ll either wither away from malnutrition or I’ll be forced to relocate to another sitting area to consume my daily meals.

Drove to Joanne’s Fabrics today and bought one yard of black velveteen for my backdrop. I was served at the cash register by an effervescent and charming young lady determined to give me a discount. She asked if I had any coupons which sadly I did not. She said, “every first Wednesday of the month we give discounts to seniors over 60 at 15% off. "Do you qualify?”

This is when I had my epiphany. I timidly replied, “Yes I qualify…” and as I saw my whole life before me and felt like the only person in the world she asked,” Is there anything else I can do for you?” I quickly replied, "Yes can you direct me to where you sell the walkers please!”, which in turn she laughed pretty hard. My day of reckoning; first time I realized, “I’m a senior!” What an awakening that was!

Spent the better part of an hour constructing a home studio for still life with two speedlights and then another hour cursing because I couldn’t get the light the way I wanted. I initially started with a mostly closed yellow tulip and the moment I switched to this lovely red rose, the whole image seemed to change.

It pays to just get lucky sometimes and at my age, getting lucky is everything!

Regards to my Flickr friends who patronize, fav, comment and lie about my images!

Since the huge refurbishment and upgrade the entrance and exit to the older, Victorian part of the NMS is now through this barrel-vaulted crypt-like basement which I am rather fond of (and which kind of demands a perspective shot like this!)

Yess! Finally I've solved some administrative issues with Flickr and I'm back in business. I start with this very reliable and therefore famous Swedish estate.

Since Flickr's Explore page is already full of photos of the recent eclipse, I figured I might as well add mine to the mix... (even though I am too busy at the time to do anything else on Flickr).

Anyways, this is captured in Austin, Texas where a well-timed cold front cleared the skies just for the evening of April 14-15. I didn't stay outside the whole time because it was chilly, and that explains why the photos above aren't oriented the same way. So I did "fake" the path of the moon, but the spacing between the photos is about right for relative time differences, except for the last one (I separated it to show it better).

This was my first lunar eclipse, and staying up till 2:30 am was definitely worth it.

Since all we've had for the last couple of weeks is drab and gray, all I got is drab and gray, This color version looks very similar to the B & W I played with.

Hope you all have a great Friday and yes the pup helped on this one.

Since the May timetable change two journeyed from Brighton have been extended beyond Littlehampton to Wick, 27656 is seen tonight at the end of its journey

Since I moved I lost my built in bookshelves. I found a giant piece of furniture to house my permanent dioramas, but they got a little rearranging. The "window" no longer worked, so this room is now an inside room. I put different cushions on the couch & instead of the tile floor, now the room has got a wood floor. I decided to keep the walls off white this time, but I may change my mind after I live with it for a while.

To make you feel my love

When the rain is blowing in your face

And the whole world is on your case

I could offer you a warm embrace

To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows and the stars appear

And there is no one there to dry your tears

I could hold you for a million years

To make you feel my love

I know you haven't made your mind up yet

But I would never do you wrong

I've known it from the moment that we met

no doubt in my mind where you belong

I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue

I'd go crawling down the avenue

No, there's nothing that I wouldn't do

To make you feel my love

The storms are raging on the rolling sea

And on the highway of regret

The winds of change are blowing wild and free

You ain't seen nothing like me yet

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true

Nothing that I wouldn't do

Go to the ends of the Earth for you

To make you feel my love

Up or Down? Since I took the picture I always looked at it the way that I saw it in person. Then people started commenting on how the stairs also look like they go up. The incredible power of suggestion that can change your perception of what you see.

Ever since I met you no vacancy 🎶

This past summer I used oil pastels to create a scene depicting what I envisioned when I heard this OneRepublic single. Ever since then, I wanted to recreate this drawing as a Lego scene. However, I quickly realized how hard it would be to make a readable neon sign in minifig scale and eventually scrapped the idea...until last night. While listening to this song again, I found the inspiration I needed and reworked my vision for this build. This was unlike anything I've done before since the entire build is actually facing towards the sky. This was done so that the pieces making up the words can remain unattached to anything (ultimately simplifying the build). I really like how this came out and hope you enjoy this different type of build ✌️

You can see the original drawing and how I created this build on my Instagram @_elitetc_

Dang!

They´re here!

The grunts are in this terretory, too. I thought I would be save here. That´s not good. I have to defend myself against these little beasts!

Some weaponry was in the drop pod. That might be helpful. And I´ve made a little barricade. That should make the whole thing a bit easier. But they know that I´m here. They saw my drop pod. They will sure search me. So I must be ready for the fight. Every single moment.

Well, nothing is impossible.

My second Halo ODST Moc!

Hope you like it!

Also, I´ve added some inspirations!

:-D

Also it would be nice, if you give me a feedback. Please leave a comment within you tell me what I did good and what not. Thanks.

Since the age of 9 after watching Star Trek, I've always wanted a personal "transporter" in my room to provide an easy way to travel. Unlike those in Star Trek, mine would be self-contained and not reliant on anybody else to bring me back. The beamer would include a "return button" to carry and press in order to get back home. Having spare batteries would be very advisable.
