Sun rise at Burwell Fen Short-eared owl

Something or someone was smiling on me this day!

On the Outer Hebrides, Short-Eared Owls still find nesting habitat in the open landscape, with no or very little intensive agricultural use. I was happy to see three of them during our one-week stay there.

I thought the SEO had cleared off, having not seen it or heard any reports for a few days now. Good to see he's still about... Albeit miles away. :@)

Short-eared owl quartering its hunting grounds above Bempton cliffs in Yorkshire. Watched this beautiful bird for nearly an hour.
