Took a recent harbour tour whilst on our break in Malta. Some people are more intent upon soaking up the sun in preference to soaking up the sights!

 

The huge catamaran in the shot is one of several on the Malta-Sicily run.

Floridia which is a very small town in Sicily where my mother's parents were from. It had just poured and then the sun came out!

When my oldest son Joseph was about 4 he came in from the garden once with magic in his eyes raving about the beauty that he'd seen in the morning dew collected in cobwebs looking up the grassy slope.

L580 crosses over the Grand River in Caledonia with BNSF 2098 leading. Never really expected to see a BN green unit up here in Ontario but here we are

Pan Am Southern 16R is seen cruising east through Shelburne Falls, MA a little after 6:30am last Thursday with a fresh pair of Canadian Pacific SD70ACu's for power.

The St. Lawrence and Hudson Railway was a Canadian Pacific subsidiary from 1996 to 2001.

 

The StL&H assets were transferred back to CPR ownership and the StL&H was dissolved. The D&H, being the CPR's corporate face in the northeastern United States, remained legally intact.

 

The few locomotives lettered for the STL&H continued to operate for CP for many years before being repainted or retired.

 

One of those SD40-2s had a southbound CP freight rolling through Clinton, Iowa somewhere near Milepost 160 in 2008.

Of all the hundreds of shots i've posted of this view, i cant think of (m)any where the focus is on the field in the foreground. Usually the sky or the sea (or trained gulls) are performing for me. So, i think it might just be because it's different that i picked this one from the archives this morning
