One of the many Gypsy stallions I have photographed over the years. This guy was one of my personal faves. I wouldn't want an all white horse, the upkeep would be too much for me, but what a specimen he is. He is in Florida now living a good life. I miss seeing him at Carla's barn when I go there now.
Many of my long time contacts have seen this horse, but I'm reposting this for my newer contacts to see. I've always loved this photo of him. He looks So carefree and gorgeous
Four SD's lead MHURC (Huron-Rapid City) past the abandon elevator at Owanka, SD. The angles are endless here with the junked out cars and buildings if I had a little more side light to work with, maybe next time.

I would have given you all of my heart
but there's someone who's torn it apart
and she's taken almost all that I've got
but if you want, I'll try to love again
baby I'll try to love again but I know
The first cut is the deepest, baby I know
The first cut is the deepest
'cause when it comes to being lucky she's cursed
when it comes to lovin' me she's worst
but when it comes to being loved she's first
that's how I know
The first cut is the deepest, baby I know
The first cut is the deepest
I still want you by my side
just to help me dry the tears that I've cried
cause I'm sure gonna give you a try
and if you want, I'll try to love again
but baby, I'll try to love again, but I know
The first cut is the deepest, baby I know
The first cut is the deepest
'Cause when it comes to being lucky she's cursed
when it comes to lovin' me she's worst
but when it comes to being loved she's first
that's how I know
The first cut is the deepest, baby I know
The first cut is the deepest

A trio of CSX standard cabs lead J783-12 out of Dayton, OH with a short train bound for Queensgate Yard in Cincinnati. Colors in the Miami River Valley were fairly good this year, as this pocket of peaking foliage at SD Cabin can attest.

Canadian Pacific SD's glide effortlessly through the newly fallen snow down off Beldon Hill into Binghamton, NY in January of 2002.
What I want to show you with this posting is how the color changes with some types of color patterns and genes. Lace Dolly and 007 were at one time exactly like the foal I've posted below. It's either blue or gray, I forget exactly what the verbiage is but it's interesting how they change over time. They start out either black and white or gray and white and eventually turn all white. You can see on Dolly above the dark areas on her skin where she used to have the gray markings.
even preggers, she can get all four off the ground, LOL
Shifting gears from the Alberta branchlines here's one from Marias Pass, yet another Altamont weekend. A pair of H1 SD40-2's shove an eastbound up the pass at MP 1160.1 of BNSF's Hi Line Subdivision
It's in the middle of summer here now.
Maybe this is the first shot of Lovesong in pink hair.
I wonder if she is waiting for someone. lol!
Athabasca Northern SD40 #5232 idles among cuts of log flats in the yard at Lac La Biche Alberta. After the ANY was purchased by CN, the big SD migrated to the Prairie Dog Central in Winnipeg, where it operates moving storage cars to this day.
Dignity (a.k.a. Dignity of Earth & Sky) is a sculpture on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River near Chamberlain, South Dakota.
The 50-foot high stainless steel statue, by South Dakota artist laureate Dale Lamphere, depicts an Indigenous woman in Plains-style dress receiving a star quilt. According to Lamphere, the sculpture honors the culture of the Lakota and Dakota peoples who are indigenous to South Dakota.
Engineering of Rapid City, SD ensured the sculpture would endure the strong winds common in the area.
Norm and Eunabel McKie of Rapid City, South Dakota announced their gift of Dignity to the State of South Dakota in 2014, in honor of the 125th anniversary of South Dakota statehood.
The statue measures 50 feet (15.24m) high, 16 (4.88m) feet deep and 32 feet (9.75m) wide. The star quilt held by the woman has more than 100 blue diamond shapes that move in the wind "like an Aspen leaf".[6]
The statue boldly proclaims that South Dakota's Native cultures are alive, standing with dignity.
Ribbon was out picking the flowers.
I love the evening sunshine and tall green grass. It looks so refreshing. ^^
Ribbon is wearing pink Dollflower eyes this time to match with her pink bow and dress! :)
This was taken from Coronado Island, looking back toward San Diego. It's about a 7 second exposure, I think, judging by the trail of the jet in the sky. You can see the lights from PetCo Park.
I liked the framing of this one more than the subject. The colors are nice too.
I've decided not to go to the Grand Canyon this weekend. Mainly because when I hit 'snooze' I accidently turned the alarm off, preventing me from getting an early start. And tomorrow I'm on call until 2 pm, so I'll just have to wait till I come here again. Flagstaff is on my list of places I want to travel. Such a cool town.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
