"The SA-43 Endo/Exo-Atmospheric Attack Jet ("Hammerhead") is the main-stay of the Marine Corps. Their SCRAM engines enable them to fly in atmosphere and the almost complete vacuum of space. Following the modular design of aircraft of the late 20th century, Hammerheads can be adapted for normal combat, search and rescue, and possibly other missions."
Prepare yourself for some gritty space action waaay before a BSG reboot (featuring 90's hairdo and sometimes weird dialog)!
"Space: Above and beyond" (or Space: 2063 in german TV) was quite contrary to my beloved Star Trek. Nonetheless I liked it a lot back then. Most prominently of course, the iconic Hammerhead attack jet.

from our hotel (the good, nice, 3star, murderless, one)
actually in their defense they had the water shut off for half an hour and told everybody to run the taps for a bit.

I had other photos to upload but the wifi here at the hostel kinda stinks (I'm leeching off a neighbor's wifi) so I'm going to post my story here and move it to the photos I took of tonight when i get them uploaded later..
antony and i stayed at the edison hotel which was located around the corner form times square. unfortunately, we couldn't book tuesday night with them because they were booked solid.
so we had to book with a hostel for tonight.
when we got back to our hostel around 1am, we noticed all these police cars and forensics vans around the area. we walked around and sure enough, it was our hostel which was police taped off.
antony asked what happened and they wouldn't say much and told us to scram for an hour or two. we asked another cop who told us that they found a suspicious package in the hotel.
we walked around and found the rest of the people staying at the hostel all huddled around the bank nearby. a group of travellers from france told us that there was a murder in the hotel. she said she saw forensics going inside without any suits on at first. when antony and i arrived, they were entering the place in hazmat suits though.
eventually, they told us it was safe to enter. there was a strange pile of clothes and a small suitcase in the lobby to which one of the employees asked the cop what was going to happen to them. the cop said "those belonged to her, we're going to take them and dispose of them".
the staff said there was a gas leak in the area somewhere but they wanted to investigate the hotel so they police taped off the hotel. they also said that they made everyone stay in their rooms who were already in the hotel. kinda strange for a gas leak, no? wouldn't they evacuate the place?
we think it might've been some kind of strange suicide taking place here. course the staff wouldn't say 'someone died here tonight.. just go to bed, you'll be fine". they'd try to hide it so people wouldn't demand their money back and go elsewhere.

The front view of my Skaven Screaming Bell. You may notice the warpstone is not glowing brightly or illuminating it's surroundings as many painters have happen with warpstone. I happen to have paid attention to the description of this substance. It is a black rock with a dull green inner glow that doesn't illuminate the surroundings.

We sadly lost Buster, 'our' pet cat earlier in the week after he suffered a stroke.
I say he was 'our' cat for two reasons. Firstly, Buster was actually adopted 10 years ago by my wife's parents. A few years back when we returned to Wales we initially moved in with them, then we bought the house and Buster came with it. The other is that as anyone who has cats will know, a cat is never yours, you and all your belongings are his/hers.
I must admit, I'm more of a dog person but it was hard not to like Buster. This was despite the fact that he was a miserable so and so. He was always complaining about something - he wasn't happy at being inside, he wasn't happy at being outside, he wasn't happy at being ignored, he wasn't happy at being given attention, he wasn't happy that I had the temerity to be asleep at 5am and most of all he was always unhappy about something to do with food - he had no food, he had the wrong food, he'd eaten too much food. You get the idea.
However despite that or maybe because of it, he was hugely popular. He'd had a hard life, he was adopted from a rescue where he'd been handed in, scared and missing a front leg after being shot with an air rifle (it's a hard life on the ghetto streets of North Wales!). Everyone in the area knew him though - we would get the occassional knock on the door from people nearby asking if they could see him. We've no idea how many people he used to visit and scram food from.
Most of all, as I discovered photography, he and Zack our dog became great rainy day models. Buster could always be relied upon to pose in many ways - angry, uninterested, asleep, erm angry. Mostly angry really. Like in this shot, see, angry. Seconds later he was no doubt moaning at me about the weather, a lack of food or just that he didn't have anything to moan about.
Life will be quieter without him but a little less fun....
