...well, that's my excuse for merging two photos into one – uploading one image to Flickr's data centre rather than two – half the number of pixels to be stored.
Two images taken 2 and a half minutes apart. GBRf Class 66/7 No. 66737 on the high road working 6D50 from Hull Dairycoates to Rylstone while DB Cargo Class 66/0 No. 66207 takes the low road into Milford working 6M16 from Wilton EFW Terminal to Knowsley. 26 November 2025.
I've been visiting this place known locally as the "Graff Factory" for a couple of years and in all that time, the Street Fighter graff pieces remained intact and untagged. Tonight I found it mostly ruined by a graff "artist" who is nowhere near as good. It won't be long before Scorpion is gone altogether...
The Bigger Picture
I'm really lucky to thave gotten this (wasn't not prepared for it) and was so bummed I could not get the whole thing - although I could see the whole double rainbow. I got the tail end of it as it faded about two minutes after this, and I did not have a wide angle with me. I did bring down the exposure level just a bit.
We bumped into a couple from Three Hills who we hit it off with on our visit to Ixtapa. They were staying at the same Condo (they own 2 suites) and are also in the dog business like us.
Valina was more than willing to let me do my first swimming pool photo shoot and in the Infinity Pool to boot. There was no way that I was going to miss out on the opportunity to float, take photos, and use my Fuji X-A1 and the 35mm f/1.4 lens in low light.
I've fought through the pain
Through the wood through the steel and the blood
I've broken you #FatherFreud just as much as you broke my spirit the past weeks
And now.. Me and Bunny,
We're together again❤️

Sometime, in this past decade, snow clearing has become a major winter industry. I can't count the number of contractors in town -- well I could but i can't be bothered. We are on about our 5th, and I think we like the current gut the best. Yesterday, when I got up at 3:30, I looked out the window, and our drive had been plowed, but the town plows has deposited a bank at the edge of the drive. When I looked again, it had also been plowed. That's what we like best about this contractor -- he returns for a second pass in good time.
This was our contractor but is not our street. I just happened to see him and grab a quick photo while out walking.By the time we returned home, our drive had also been plowed.

These public toilets in the Queens gardens of Shepparton, Victoria, Australia, provided some not so light, but dark humour for the locals. The locals found it amusing that the council had installed these state-of-the-art self-cleaning toilets in the gardens. They seemed like a bright idea and although saving money and time for cleaning they lacked some artificial intelligence, or a couple of if then statements, if you are into programming. Although there is nothing funny about homelessness, a scenario like the auto wash scene in Fifth element occurred. Here is a link to the iconic scene www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkGsYEKOswU It is local legend or a Furphy en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furphy ) depending on who you talk to, that some poor homeless person seeking shelter, tried to sleep in them over night. Before going on, it should be said that most locals laughed at councils’ decision to install the state-of-the-art convenience, not at the fate of the homeless man that wanted a good night’s sleep, out of the elements. As the story would go, the man entered the toilets in the evening, unbeknownst to him, the toilets self-locked at a certain time, locking him inside the cubical. This might be scary enough, but apparently, the thing self-cleans all surfaces overnight. A very handy thing if you are trying to avoid the worst toilets in Scotland as in Trainspotting www.youtube.com/watch?v=P88cV5mFWoI but not so good, if you are locked in the facility, and must try to sleep, all night covered in high grade disinfectant. Apparently, no amount of screaming and yelling would help him as there was no one around to hear him. Don’t be frightened though if you find your self in need of a public convenience, as the issues have been solved, albeit after the fact.

Another one of this beautiful White Peacock butterfly in the backyard. The backyard has gotten away from me AGAIN as my health has been awful. But here was this beauty. The sprinklers were on (it's so hot here) and it was on the beautiful Lantana. Unfortunately, one of my water buckets (turned over ... I use them to catch rainwater, etc.) was in her background. So I cropped this sucker three times and resized it each time. Painted it which I love to do anyway, and I was pleased that my editing skills sometimes save my ruined photos. My pride gets in the way sometimes, so I didn't let it this time, the shot of the butterfly WAS perfect before all the cropping. And those are water drops from the sprinklers which I wanted to save, too, but ...

Last week I had the opportunity to visit the San Diego Zoo and photograph some of the beautiful animals kept there. Although I do not completely embrace the concept of zoos, the San Diego Zoo has one of the largest conservation research centers and they are committed to protecting and saving species worldwide. That is a good thing.
I have been collecting memories for a life time.....albums, pictures, and stories ......... storing them as we all have. This is a reminder of the beauty of it all!
Povero Sonny ...

Poor Sonny...
Poor young bear with the big head... he was little more than a puppy, he was facing a solitary life, in his early days as an independent individual, without his mother.
Inexperienced and confident, he took his steps in the woods and valleys.
He did not sleep safely in some den, but wandered around looking for food.
The beautiful sleep of hibernation did not protect Sonny.
Too bad he would have been saved.
The mild winters, in fact, have now confused and influenced the natural cycle of bears.
Their sleep/wake rhythm, linked to the seasons, has altered.
The encounter with two people from afar cost him his life... for just having met the gaze of the bipedal tyrant.
He never hurt anyone Sonny. Condemned, hunted down and shot dead for doing nothing.
All in rapid mode as befits cowards who act treacherously.
An execution at the same time as the issuing of the killing decree, leaving no room for civil society to take action aimed at saving him, resorting to the TAR.
Killed because he was confident, because he used the bins that were always available and never modified, killed because even the paths in Trentino have never been well regulated and anyone can go anywhere, and then create collective alarmism.
While bears no longer have a safe area and just have to disappear.
Having taken the money from the Life Ursus reintroduction project, now the plantigrades are too many in those valleys and perhaps an obstacle to some other project that brings money.
His judge and executioner is the President of the very sad autonomous province of Trento, Fugatti, determined to kill them all.
This hostile and contemptuous subject of the life of wild animals will remember these days well. They will mark his existence because the whole country knew well his cynicism, his out of control obsession with these creatures and he will be remembered as the hater of bears, a tormentor with doubles and easy life sentences...
Undisputed king of Casteller.

Every two weeks our local Council provides a collection service for household recyclable items.
Garden refuse and plastics are collected separately and this vehicle collects paper, card, glass and tins.
Something more hopeful this time... I love black and white photography and i truly feel that most of my work will be b&w, but i really like some concepts with color. It's hard making the commitment to a certain style even if it evolves in an organic way. You are always learning, always changing.
This one is about holding on to your dreams even if it looks you are loosing, and trying to get there alone... Keep going, you can't insert a coin for continues.
The National Saving And Trust Company, presently occupied by Sun Trust Bank is a historic bank building located at the corner of New York Avenue and 15th Street, NW in Downtown Washington, D.C. It was designed by architect James H. Windrim and built in 1888. The Queen Anne Style building is constructed in red brick, and elaborately detailed with copper and terracotta (Wiki)
These are the bulbs that produce the light for Fanad Lighthouse on Fanad peninsula, Donegal, Ireland. If I remember rightly, one set of two are backed up by the other other set of two.

So turns out that I might have another small problem. I'm going to have to do these posts in spurts. Turns out I get really tired of having to lean over the laptop. It's not that I have to lean so much as I have to lean forward and down. it Takes a lot of energy out of me trying to hold My body in that direction. So, I am going to post this photo for now. And I will either do the actual blog post later on today, or tomorrow. Again my Saving Grace is Paige and you all should thank her. Cuz at least I have this to use until we can figure out what's going on with my computer.
Now that being said I need some advice. We have tried to replace the power supply and when Jim, the guy who installed it turned it on what happened was it turned on for like a Split Second... maybe not exactly "on" but the light flashed. Tell us that it's at least getting power. So the Question is, what could it possibly be? His idea is that possibly, maybe when it turned off, I tried to turn it on subconsciously... I don't remember doing that but who knows. And it could have fried the motherboard. When he examined the motherboard it didn't look like there was anything wrong. he builds computers. Always has built computers. We don't know what is causing it. So if there's anyone out there who knows computer and has an idea please run it by me so that I can run it by him and we can try and fix this. It's really sucks too because we just got some extra money and I technically could get a power supply but if it's not the power supply then what could it possibly be.
Rainy. Cold. Windy. So grabbing one of my favorite doll heads, I headed over to the local cemetery and this is the best I could come up with. Maybe tomorrow will bring a little sun and I can resort to conventional behavior.
This is the western aspect of the new WA surf life saving head quarters. This is quite a controversial building as it has been built on an unspoilt piece of arguably Perths nicest, and unspoilt, beach front. My personal opinion is that this is quite beautiful but should have been built elsewhere. The beach front once spoilt cant be unspoilt.
