Once endangered due to its exquisite plumage, the Snowy Egret now thrives thanks to early conservationists.

More than just a feather in your cap -- Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) in Hermann Park. Houston, Texas.

I'm alive in here

So alive in here

Pull it down a little please

I'm open wide in here

Slow to rise in here

Saving Grace and killing me

You say this only makes me incomplete

I'm kicked around and rendered obsolite

Tell the mad chameleon he's not welcome anymore

I know what I'm looking for

Somewhere close

Somewhere safe

Somewhere I know

I know I'll never live in chains

The one is now aware

So stay away from me

I'm just too young to care

I can see in here

And I can feel in here

Comatose with common sense

I take my time in here

Someone get me out of here

What am I so against

I just wanna watch the whole world burn

Lost a million times and I won't learn

Show me someone innocent

I'll show you there's no proof

I may be gone but I'm no fool

I'm not close

I'm not safe

I don't know

Know, am I better off in chains

The one is not aware

So stay away from me

I'm just too young to care

I need

Somewhere close

Somewhere safe

Somewhere I know

I know I'll never live in chains

The one is now aware

So stay away from me

I'm just too young to care

Too young to care

Lake Michigan wave action, unlike these "gentle waves" on a clear day, can become treacherous for small boaters.

This scene is at the beach near the Maritime Museum (former Life-Saving Station/Coast Guard Station), Glen Haven, Michigan.

'Twas eerie as I wandered through the woodland to catch a glimpse of this ancient Victorian house of Castlestead where little was moving as the storm moved in. Perhaps the maid risked having the light on as she retired for the night ............................

or perhaps they are heeding the new norm to reduce our energy consumption

Toronto, Ontario. A beautiful city. Luv the 6

Inside the old and crumbling Tullich Kirk near Ballater in the Scottish Highlands. Gravestones stay safe within its walls as the early springtime sun shines down.

Worth saving, or worthless? These are my grown daughter's Beanie Babies. They didn't want them, so why do I hang on to them?

For Crazy Tuesday's theme "soft toys".

Some day there will be no more barns.

Only pictures of barns and stories of what they were used for.

the moon rises above Our Saviors Lutheran Church

For literally decades I have passed this beautiful church but usually I was always in a rush as I always had to be someplace to go or people to meet. This day was no better I was busy to heading downtown to cover the Halloween Parade but at least this day I grabbed a quick shot and decided to look up the history. Finished in 1846 in was designed James Renwick Jr. in French Gothic Revival Style. It's walls were built out of Sing Sing Marble from a nearby quarry next to historic Sing Sing Prison were the inmates were hired out to cut out the stone as a cost saving measure. The original spire was wood but was replaced with a stone spire in 1888. When the church opened it became very popular with many of the wealthiest families in the city as it outclassed many of the simpler wooden churches that existed in the city at the time. During the mid 20th century it was designated a New York City Landmark and now also enjoys National Landmark Status.

In the 1970's this area of New London was abandoned and set for redevelopment. But the Savings Bank of New London saw it's potential and wanted to preserve some of the areas history and contribution to our country's establishment and growth. So they bought up the block and renovated every house.

This is the roof of the RNLI Station in Tenby. The water was almost the same colour of the roof (the grey sky being reflected) and choppy in a way that made it look like noise, so I smoothed it out.

Special thanks and Love for those who stepped up

while California burned.

And prayers for the safety of those firefighters who are trying to save homes even after their own homes have burned down.

They are the spirit of Thanksgiving:

Sharing the Love.....It is our Saving Grace.

Happy Thanksgiving to my flickr friends, with Love.

Lightning striking off the coast of Brucoli, Sicily 10 Nov, 2017.

My outing today didn’t go quite as planned due to a substandard weather forecast. I did always plan to find the location for this shot though and I only managed to spot it when I bailed on my main plan. Serendipity perhaps? Two of the Three Sisters in Glencoe, Scotland.
