Little cherub Sapphire with wings & halo, Avery sculpt by Denise Pratt

Sapphire and my toy mouse..... so cute...

This is Star Sapphire. Green Lanterns enemy from an immortal race of warrior women called the Zamarons, had chosen physically identical mortals from across the cosmos to serve as host body for their Queen, whom they called Star Sapphire. She is then given the Queen's symbolic weapon, a crystal resembling an actual star sapphire which grants the user powers similar to the power ring of a Green Lantern.

I think at one point as Carrol Ferris she also has a love/romantic interest with Green Lantern/Hal Jordan

The Gardner River flows sapphire blue past Sheepeater Cliffs.

The columnar basalt cliffs were named after the Shoshone Sheepeater Indians, the only known American Indian occupants of what is now the Yellowstone National Park.

They were ejected from the Park to make earlier visitors feel more comfortable after some tourists were killed & injured when the Nez Perce traveled through the Park on their flight to Canada. I was reminded of that watching the first episode of "The National Parks: American's Best Idea" (recorded on DVR -- it aired Sunday).

A pair of custom sapphire earrings, I thought it'd be SO easy to do these but I was wrong. Started off with the wrong size chain and 0.5. mm really make a difference proportion wise! but they're done and I think I like them, hope the customer does too:)

Czech PRECIOSA Farfalle™ seed beads stand out due to their unusual shape which is reminiscent of a ribbon or a butterfly. That is where they get their name from (the Italian word for "butterfly"). The shape of Czech PRECIOSA Farfalle™ beads has also inspired Japanese producers who offer similarly shaped beads under the name of Berry Beads (BB) or Peanut Beads.

The production of PRECIOSA Farfalle™ seed beads began in 2005 in four basic glass types: crystal, chalk, alabaster and black. The original range was later expanded to include the basic transparent colours of topaz, amethyst, sapphire, grey, green, aquamarine and red. A wide range of finishes can be applied to the glass: for example, iris coatings, lustres, rainbow coatings, chrome, silver and colour linings or a matt finish.

PRECIOSA Farfalle™ are produced in two sizes: 3.2 x 6.5 mm and 2 x 4 mm. The size of the PRECIOSA Farfalle™ seed beads is ellipsoid and it is located in the central narrowed section of the seed bead, so the seed beads automatically cross during stringing which leads to an interlocking effect.

Cut Farfalle is a special type of PRECIOSA Farfalle™ seed bead, on which 1-2 small facets are cut on a special cutting wheel which gives the seed bead a special brilliance.
