Fresh salsa is one of my favorite condiments. Of course to eat with chips, but over fish, chicken, a quiche.......delicious! Bon appetit!

This was the same Photography Club challenge as the last image. The original image of Salsa Red Echinacea was taken at a Garden Centre. There was a good variety of colours in the image. In my software I moved the Hue and Saturation slider to the right to further increase the colours. Went into Filters and applied the Palette Knife filter, and moved the stroke detail fairly high to get the distorted effect. I really like the vivid colours, and was pleased with the result. It was also fun to do.

This is a second in this series. The shot is blurred due to the dance movement. I was right in front of these two terrific salsa dancers. There is something about this shot I really like,,,,for me it captures the essence of last night for me....cool breezes, cool dancing, cool mood, and people of all cultures and ages together in peace having fun ! It also captures the sensuality of the salsa. No flash was used.....and its almost like the dancers have become one !

i steamed the cassava to partially cook before decanting into a frying pan of hot extra virgin olive oil

next time i'll decant the steamed cassava firstly onto kitchen roll paper to take up the excess moisture and then into the frying pan to help prevent the sizzle and splash when the steamed cassava hits the hot oil :)

So for something a little different, I went to Salsa dancing on the request of an ultimate player. This is a random quick pick... I will look them over tomorrow and pick a dozen or so that I like and get them up here.

 

Anyone with a calibrated monitor please let me know if this appears too red... I ran my spyder 3 and everything feels so red now in windows.

I used about 15 ounces of cranberries and about 3/4 cup of sugar, mix well and set in fridge overnight. I'm guessing an hour or so would be okay too. I then chopped 8 jalapeno peppers, 1 large sweet yellow pepper, 1 small sweet onion, ( green onions would be nice but were not available for me) chopped cilantro, zest and juice from one lime. Mix together and allow to chill in fridge for an hour before serving. Delicious on multi grain crackers. I've read that you can serve it with cream cheese.

I would probably bring salsa. My salsas are somewhat popular with those who know me, and I can make several different kinds. This one is a salsa fresca, consisting of diced tomatoes, geen chile, onions, cilantro, and a bit of garlic.

My project for the day. My kiddo, James, says he always knows when I'm making salsa because I put on my Linda Ronstadt's "Canciones de me Padre" CD....LOL!!! Gotta have music to make the salsa just right!

I think this tiny character is a male.

 

Salsa is a genus of orb weavers endemic to the Australasian region.

Within genus Salsa, named for the Latin American dance, this tiny orb weaver looks to be in the middle of its own particular dance, captured here on the tips of a conifer.

 

I think it has some prey in its jaws.

 

Not sure if male or female, but tiny indeed.

 

Around 5 mm body length.
