Sells Mill ca.1914
Jackson County, GA
This mill was purchased by Jackson county in 2000 and restored, the property has been turned into a recreation park. A two-story, wood-frame structure with a partial basement containing the drive and gears for the mill. Power is supplied from a metal water wheel with the water source coming from a mill pond. The drive system has been converted to a hydraulic system powered by the water wheel with the original drive system still in place.

6 uova
100 g di parmigiano grattugiato
200 g di mortadella tagliata a dadini
sale, pepe, noce moscata
maggiorana (consigliatissima! io non l'avevo)
Riempire la base con questo ripieno, poi coprire tutto con la restante pasta. Bucherellare anche in superficie, ungere di olio e cuocere in forno moderato per 45-50 minuti.
FROM A REAL ESTATE ADVERTISEMENT FOR A COTTAGE ON BASKET ISLAND: "Quintessential rustic Maine cottage sited on an island 3.5 acres in size shared by six others who enjoy a seasonal life style like none other. A wrap a round porch overlooks spectacular vistas of open ocean, islands, light house, seals, a variety of bird life and stunning sunsets. This is not for the faint of heart. Access to the island is by foot or four wheel vehicle at low tide and there is no electricity. This is a return to basics in a magical place only a few will ever experience"

This is the sign I was in search of, the sign I drove nearly 90 minutes to find. That is, 90 minutes from the *correct* turn off. First though, I went the wrong way and ended up in Virginia Dale (see previous images) ... by the time I made it back and over to the designated spot, a storm had come on, and I was *so* mad at myself for once again reading a map backward (sigh), and missing my chance. But then all of a sudden, a ray of light broke through the clouds. Directly on the sign and the area immediately around it. I was so happy!!! People, this is the kind of luck I had all the time, in Colorado ... too many clouds? Shadow? Rain? Why, I'd just wait a moment, stand out in the splendid wide open, quietly take it all in, and soon enough, the light would change in the most wonderful way.

a try at texturing. I hardly do that. Being a graphic designer, I try to keep away from photoshop and keep thing as original as possible. I am not showing my design skills, am here for my love of photography.
A few customers sit at the bar inside The Manitou in northwest Michigan. The place is quite rustic looking and what you might expect in the middle of nowhere not far from the Lake Michigan shore. The food is quite good.

A friend took me and my family to her hometown of Schwabach, Germany. We parked on the outskirts near her childhood home and walked into town. As soon as we got off the trail and into the city, this door caught my eye. I loved the contrast between the dark door and the light wall as well as the textures. I was torn between color and black and white as they are both interesting to me on this one. So I will present it in both. Feel free to leave a comment on which you like best.
This old abandoned sheepherders cabin is on a ridge south of Flume Hollow,on the east slope of Perry Peak, southwest of Mantua,Utah. This was the last time I was there,I don't know what shape it might be in now or if it is still standing. Taken on Thursday,July 6,1995
Found image. I find this photograph very interesting. The woman is posed against a nicely made rustic chair - the seat is neat and the back has been carefully constructed from angled branches to create a pattern up the back and an arched rail along the top. I wonder if she made it. I assume the chair is supposed to be the star of the show so it's a pity it has been cropped.
