Independence, California is the heart of the Owens Valley. A small rural community of approximately 800 people is the county seat for Inyo County; the second largest county in California.
Seen next to Barry station, the rusted remains of a derelict steam locomotive and some comparatively modern wagons. The steam loco appears to have 10 driving wheels, does that make it a 9F or does anything else in the UK have so many?
