Went down to Fort Point at the Presidio of San Francisco, California. The morning was overcast but took some shots anyway.
The rusted remains of industry still stand as a reminder of what once was. Black River & Western 60 runs around her train nearby the old siding.
Anyone with steel on their boats knows that the ocean is constantly working to eat their vessel right out from under them. When the days of fishing grow long, rust busting becomes a low priority. These shackles on a fishing boat in Charleston, Oregon testify to the battle between the elements and elbow grease.

Anyone not familiar with a coastal environment might not be aware of what the environment, heavy with salt moisture, can do to things, especially metal, over time.
If these were original floodlight holders on this motel, they are 15 years old.

I stumbled upon a whole mess of what appeared to be old, rusted air ducts. At first I didn't give this find much thought. But I stuck around and came up with this shot. It is the corner of one of the air ducts framing the other rusted piece of duct behind it.
