The grating to the West Wemyss Chapel Gardens was built in the late 16th century. Now used as the Wemyss Family private burial plot.
It looks like these could be the original metal bars used when the outside wall was built.
The gratings are well rusted and in some of the other arches are almost missing altogether.

Rust is a tricky color as the reference is relative to the rust we know.

I photographed this smashed VW bug on my very first visit to Bombay Beach, probably about 1988. In the span of less than three years it rusted into complete non-existence.

This car had '91 tags on the plates which makes me think this entire place has been abandoned for about 20 years.
This picture is all about perspective, shadow, and shape. I upped the saturation to make the picture a bit more bold, then I burned the shadows to give them more depth. This image was strong in its original form, and the minimal editing that I did made a difference to make this an even stronger image.
