La Flotte-en-Ré (to give the village its full name) is a small village with an attractive port on the northern coast of Ile-de-Ré, with distant views to the beaches of the Vendée department. The town is very pretty, centred around its bustling harbour filled with fishing boats, with many of the houses being in the typical style of the region - low whitewashed houses with green shutters.
The sun is setting behind the lighthouse built 1849. Active; focal plane 10 m (33 ft); flash every 4 s, white or green depending on direction. 10 m (33 ft) round masonry tower with lantern and gallery, painted white; lantern and gallery painted green.
By that I mean the packaging we get around Christmas Gifts such as this. It's two jars of honey which our son bought us for Christmas , no that I'm grumbling abut that in itself, neither am I ungrateful . By now the honey has been put away in the cupboard, the honey dipper whilst being useful for runny honey , has been put away in my photo prop drawer as has the cute little bee . Thankfully there was no plastic wrapping so the carboard box has gone into the green recycling bag.

A sand sculpture that I found defaced.
This cold I have is making me sneeze all the time, runny nose that won't stop and a cough that really hurts my throat. Iheard of many people who have had it and hope it doesn't last too long as I need the energy to work.

A local pair of mute swans managed to hatch three little ones. It must have been a recent event as they had very little strength. A fourth sibling, still encased in a large gray egg, was not so lucky. It was interesting to watch the survivors as they alternately dozed off with little heads bobbing about and mom trying to keep them close under her wings. This one, runny nose and all, was determined to get on her back.
Trying to get a good photograph was difficult with hard light and dark shadows - not to mention the constant movement and with me keeping a bit of distance to make sure dad was happy - he was pretty big. Converting the image to black and white seemed to make it work a bit better.
Served up and ready to eat, or when the cream's been whisked.
Still a touch runnier than it should have been, but it tasted delicious. I'll reduce the amount of extra liquid the next time I make it, although I used less than half the amount used in the recipe this time.
Maybe a night in the fridge will help it.

( ;
anywya im still sick and now i have a cough and a runny nose:p ive almost drank an entire bottle of medicine of the last 3 days:p

It's been another fairly hot week in the city, so as the temperatures were rising and I was trying to decide on Sweet Sunday it became very clear to me that baking wouldn't be an option.
Something frozen sounded good to me, and I had a bag of black cherries in the freezer so I thought I'd try my hand at this instant cherry sorbet to see what it's like.
I think next time I'd add a little cherry juice to the blend, but otherwise, this is a simple and tasty treat!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of frozen black pitted cherries
- 2 tablespoons of superfine sugar
- 2 tablespoons of amaretto (I don't have amaretto in the house, I used 1 tablespoon of almond extract instead)
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.
- Chopped Almonds
Directions:
01. Whirl 2 cups frozen black cherries with 2 tbsp superfine sugar in a food processor until crumbly.
02. With the motor running, gradually pour in 2 tbsp amaretto (or 1 tbsp of almond extract) and 1 tsp lemon juice until smooth but not runny.
03. Serve topped with chopped almonds. (Optional)

The Old Man of Storr, Isle of Skye
There are times when I struggle to take photographs because of the scene unfolding grabbing my attention by the throat and saying "Don't you dare look away".
I got up early on the indication of some fog being around and I originally planned to go to The Quirang to check it out. Having hiked up to the Old Man Overview a few days earlier and suffering post-Covid cough and runny nose I was looking for excuses. However, as I drove north from Portree I decided to not be a wuss and go for The Old man. I set off from the car park and started walking & chatting with another Tog. After a while my frequent stops to blow my nose were too often and I was sort of relived when he said he'd press on as I was feeling embarrassed & guilty for slowing him down.
He said he wasn't going to the overlook spot and whilst I was very tempted I pressed on beyond the Old Man. My this time the fog was very heavy and it had started to rain (one of the rare times on my week on Skye!) so my new Rab waterproof jacket got a workout.
Huffing, puffing, coughing and honking (my nose) I eventually arrived at the overlook a little while before sunrise and could see very little due to a lack of light and the fog.
Sunrise came and went and The Old Man was still sucked in by the fog and I was starting to think I'd made the climb for nothing.
Then the sky started to brighten to my left and without warning the sun broke through the fog to briefly illuminate The Old Man. Unfortunately I'd chosen that moment to go move my camera bag from where I'd left it so as I got back to the camera and the fog rolled in again without me getting more than 1 shot I was swearing I can tell you!
There then followed about 20mins of cat & mouse between my camera and The Old Man as the sun and the fog battled for supremacy. After that the Sun seemed to have been KO'd as the fog rolled back in and although I waited another hour I never saw The Old Man again. I was really torn between wanting to just watch the scene and take the photos as it was so ethereal.
During the periods it was fleetingly visible I was hitting the shutter non-stop and this is one of the images I captured. If you look closely you can see the other Tog I mentioned just above the path to The Old Man about half way up the photo close to the right side of the frame.
I'm grateful for the extra MP on the R5 as this (or one of the others I shot in that 15mins is going to end up printed big and hanging on my wall.
Not only did I feel these shots made the hike up that morning worth the effort but it made the whole trip worthwhile. Mother nature likes to tease us Togs but she also rewards us. What as amazing to me was that I had the whole of the overlook to myself that whole time and mysekf and the other Tog had the whole experience to ourselves.
The title for the photo comes from the catchphrase of a certain landscape photographer/YouTuber who I'm sure many of you know. I think it summed up my feelings whilst I was at the overlook.

Had time to recreate the shot I wanted to do the other night but couldn't be bothered.
Jake has been introduced to runny eggs for breakfast and loves them, but I dare show him this version of runny eggs as I may be getting a knock on the door from social services if I actually served him this for breakfast.
For anyone interested I didn't waste any egg or creme, the soldiers were eaten to see if it actually tasted nice and i can confirm - YES - it does work and very yummy.

Fall is in it's peak, and Northern Kentucky was bathed in gorgeous color. The streets of LaGrange, KY are also bathed in color, and like countless times before, the streets once again make way for the main event, as CSXT 8702 leads Q133 down Main St.
Utah Railway F45 6606 stands in the road’s yard in Martin, Utah. It appears to have a severe case of runny paint, or more likely, has blown oil all over its roof.

Funny story: I was trying to avoid my neighbors and my mom from seeing me with paint all over my face- it didn't work :)

I'll try something new out and try more creative shots :)
So just a little sidenote: watercolor is NOT easy to get off your face (I'm actually still trying to get it all off- and I have youth group tonight. Dang.) but it's ideal if you want a runny paint look :D

Tomorrow's 365 is going to be difficult because my cousin is getting married!

Salt-secretion of the supraorbital / nasal gland. It looks a bit like a sneeze but like a fulmar or shearwater, this gland is always running (like a runny nose) so when the penguin shakes his head as he ruffles his feathers (as in this shot) he sprays his snot over his friends.
