I would have wanted this sharper and more focused but had to take this in the spur of the moment. You know how people suddenly run just to not miss the green light. Gave the
photo some treatment with LR and PS CS3 and a dash of Film Grain...
Good to have the BMMO S21 (5870, LHA870F) moving under her own power again, albeit briefly as part of a move around at AMRTM. It would be lovely to get the brakes reassembled and see this rarity back on the road.
This is a photograph from the sixth annual Donadea 50KM Ultramarathon which was held in Donadea Forest, Donadea, Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Saturday 14th February 2015 at 10:00. The race was also an International Association of Ultrarunners Silver Label Event and the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) National 50KM Championships. There were 178 finishers.

Donadea Forest Park is situated in rural north Kildare and is approximately 640 acres in size. The amenities at the forest include good walking trails, a diversity of natural habitats, a walled stream, a large natural lake, and the ruins of Donadea castle. The Park is a designated National Heritage Area. The basic designation for wildlife is the Natural Heritage Area (NHA). This is an area considered important for the habitats present or which holds species of plants and animals whose habitat needs protection. It is a special occasion to allow the 50KM to be held in this environment.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Running around the Plaza de Armas with the local cuzqueños. If you're ever in Cusco, spend a full morning or afternoon really soaking in the vibe of the plaza. It's bursting with life, and it's not just a tourist gathering place -- you'll just as easily find locals relaxing on benches reading the paper or jostling to their next destination in town.
This is a photograph from the 5th annual Clongowes 5KM road race and fun run which was held at Clongowes Wood College, Clane, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 20th March 2016 at 11:00. The race is held annually as a fundraiser in aid of Clane Athletic Club and the Order of Malta International Camp and Lourdes fund. The weather was very good for road running. A cold dry crisp spring morning with clear skies and little wind. The race starts within the grounds of Clongowes Wood College at the Gold Course Side. The race proceeds out the golf course exit onto the Clane Kilcock road (the R407) and heads towards Kilcock. At the next junction (Borehole Cross) the course then takes a left and heads towards Prosperous village on the R408 known locally as 'the straight road'. About 1KM after the turn the course turns left in Ballynaboley and makes its way along a small boreen road which brings runners to join up again with the Clane Kilcock road. The race then runs right towards Clane and soon the runners see the famous landmark of the gates of the entrance to Clongowes Wood College. There is about a 400m straight stretch down the avenue to the finish as runners look down the straight avenue to the finish and the backdrop of the historic college buildings. Overall the course is flat and fast with a small incline over the first 2KM before the race turns off the Clane-Kilcock road.
The race is supported by Clane Athletic Club which is one of Ireland's newest athletic clubs. The club was reformed in 2012 with the principal aim of promoting athletics for all ages in the village of Clane and surrounding areas.
The grounds of the college provide a historically significant backdrop to the race. The school can trace its history back to a large estate owned by a local family in the 1400s. The estate became a school in the 1800s. While Clongowes is well known in the educational domain it is also well known for its strong history in schools rugby union. Today Clongowes Wood college is a voluntary secondary boarding school for boys.

The photo is grainy and the light was poor but this is a photo of the running order pinned to the wall of Sandy Lane Garage, Coventry on its last day of operation, 25 October 1986. Some of the letters look smudgy but I’ve spent a bit of time with this and there are a few interesting points:
As was common by this time, the Fleetlines were not working much after 6pm
Ex Coventry Fleetline 1135 (PDU135M) and similar 44xx East Lancs Fleetlines were not working and had finished their service life with the PTE the previous day in most cases.
Some of the 6582-6591 Fleetlines operated from this depot where they had already displaced GOG Metrobuses in a swap with Liverpool St Garage in Birmingham. In keeping with Sandy Lane policy, these were odd numbered specimens.
The last vehicle back to garage looks to have been 2615 according to the schedule (a bit of squinting and enlarging but I'm 90%)but whether this was back to Sandy Lane or not I don’t know. I seem to recall the staff saying that they would leave Sandy Lane in the morning and go to Wheatley Street after they came off service.
The Metrobuses which went in exchange for the Park Royal Fleetlines were 2105-10/95-99 and Coventry also received 6635-37 from Liverpool Street but these did not enter service before deregulation as far as I know.

This is the 35th year of the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon, which is run through the historic Georgian streets of Dublin, Ireland's largest and capital city. This photograph was taken in Dublin City Center opposite the Four Courts. This was at approximately the 3 mile point.

This little cownose ray was feeding on Coquina in the shallows and was left high and dry by an outgoing wave. It sputtered and flapped, but seemed to be making its way in the wrong direction! I picked it up after a few photos and tossed it back into the water, where it was again gliding by with its dozens of friends, in search of an easy meal.
