I am amazed to see how this Running Culture has picked up pace in India... I say running culture because not so long ago, India never had a marathon and people from the African countries were only thought of participating in those long runs... And now all the major cities host marathons... Everybody from kids to elders, men to women, husband and wife, friends are running... Running for a cause, running for fitness, running for fun, running for love etc... I hope one day I too will start running, not to earn anything but just to EARN my BODY :)

PARKRUN #214 - (Wycombe Rye parkrun)

Another morning where it was hard to get going due to angina (probably because to the cold air), but I’m pretty chuffed with my 6th consecutive run improved time! In fact this was my best time since 03/06/2023 and only the second time I have beaten my maiden run time since being diagnosed with Chronotropic Incompetence (exercise intolerance) and only 27 seconds behind my CI PB - not bad for a veteran with a dicky ticker!

Distance: 5.00km

Time: 37:23 - (my overall PB remains 26:32, post Covid PB 30:31, AFib PB 36:45, CI PB 36:56)

Photos in set "With Descriptions" (flic.kr/s/aHsjDcxkUo) contain descriptions regarding my intentions, background of the shooting, etc. Enjoy!

My theme of the day was "coming home". Tried to take shots of people getting off a bus at night, most likely returning home from work.

This person in the photo, started running soon after she got off a bus. I followed her path, found the lamp post, ran past her to position myself and frame the shot, and snapped it as she got under the light.

This is a photograph from the 4th annual running of the Lough Lene Gaels Hurling and Camogie Clubs New Year Road Challenge which was held in Collinstown, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Sunday 10th January 2015 at 13:00. The race is organised by the local GAA club called Lough Lene Gaels. There were two races on offer today - a 10KM road race and a 5KM road race, fun run, and walk. This is one of the first road races in the midlands of the New Year 2016 and attracted over 300 runners, joggers and walkers. As this was a community orientated event families were especially welcome in the 5KM race. The race was organised to raise funding for the development of the GAA pitches for the Lough Lene Gaels Hurling and Camogie Clubs. Overall this was a very successful event with a very large field of well over 300 participants in both races combined. The great local effort was exemplified by a very big local contingent from Collinstown and neighbouring areas. The 5KM race was an out and back course on the Collinstown to Fore Road. The 10KM was also on an out and back course with a deviation between 2KM and 7KM for the longer race. There were several tough hills but an equal amount of down-hill. For most participants both races were the proverbial race of two halves with the outward section down-hill and wind assisted with the return leg from Lough Lene to the finish (about 2.5KM in total) up hill and with a stiff sharp cold breeze in the face. Hot and cold refreshments were provided in the Lough Lene Inn Pub afterwards with prize-giving.

Timing and event management was provided by Red Tag Timing from Galway, Ireland. Their website is here [redtagtiming.com/] and will contain the results to today's race.

Collinstown is about 11 miles northeast of Mullingar in Co. Westmeath. The dominant geographical feature of the area and of both races is the beautiful Lough Lene a large freshwater lake close to the village. The water in the lake is internationally noted for the purity and clarity of its water and Lough Lene has regularly been awarded the blue flag status for water quality from the European Commission. It is well known amongst anglers. It covers approximately 430 hectares with water is measured to depths to 20m.

BUT..... Wait there a minute....

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.

This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.

In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

The 4th annual Donadea Forest 10K took place on Saturday 15th October 2011. Donadea Forest Park is situated between Clane and Kilcock in County Kildare. The profits from the 10K race go to support a local charity each year with support also given to The Friends of the Forest community group and Donadea Running Club. This year’s chosen charity was Friends of Naas Hospital.

Donadea is located close to Prosperous, between Clane and Maynooth and has a beautiful forest park owned and managed by Coillte.

Despite the rather gloomy autumnal weather we managed to capture a large set of pictures. If you are interested in the full resolution of any photograph(s) here, with no watermark or polaroid effect, I can email it to you FREE OF CHARGE. Email address is petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com. The easiest way to do this is to open the picture in Flickr and copy the link at the top of the browser into your email.

If you would like to use any of the photographs on your Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Foursquare, account etc - we require that you please attribute or please link back to the original photograph here on Flickr or the photograph set on Flickr. All photographs are available here under a Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 Generic (CC BY-SA 2.0) license. This just means that all you have to do is just link back or state where the photographs came from. This is the only "cost" of the images.

This was lit by my Cullman CX40 flash (on full power) held high above my head and 2 meters to my left by a friend. It was triggered by an optical slave, so there may also have been some light from my Nikon's on camera flash, but I think that would be negligible.

Well did you hear, there’s a natural order.

Those most deserving will end up with the most.

That the cream cannot help but always rise up to the top,

Well I say: Shit floats.

If you thought things had changed,

Friend you’d better think again,

Bluntly put in the fewest of words,

Cunts are still running the world,

Cunts are still running the world.

Now the working classes are obsolete,

They are surplus to society's needs,

So let ‘em all kill each other,

And get it made overseas.

That’s the word don’t you know,

From the guys thats running the show,

Lets be perfectly clear boys and girls,

Cunts are still running the world,

Cunts are still running the world.

You feed your children on crayfish and lobster tails,

Find a school near the top of the league,

In theory I respect your right to exist,

but I will kill ya if you move in next to me,

Ah it stinks, it sucks, it’s anthropologically unjust,

But the takings are up by a third, Oh So

Cunts are still running the world,

Cunts are still running the world.

The free market is perfectly natural,

Do you think that I’m some kind of dummy?

It’s the ideal way to order the world,

Fuck the morals.....Does it make any money?

And if you don’t like it? Then leave.

Or use your right to protest on the street,

Yeah, use your rights but don’t imagine that it’s heard, Oh no no,

not while cunts are still running the world,

Cunts are still running the world.
