The Lidl Run Kildare Events 2013 were held at the Curragh Racecourse, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 12th May 2013. There were three events: a 10KM, a half marathon, and a full marathon. This is a selection of photographs which includes all events. The photographs are taken from the start and finish of the marathon, the finish of the 10KM, and the finish of the half marathon. Due to the large numbers participating we did not manage to photograph everyone - which was not helped by the weather. Congratulations to Jo Cawley and her RunKildare crew for another great event. The weather didn't dampen the spirits of the many happy participants.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 3,000 participants over the 3 race events - there were runners, joggers, and walkers participating.
Weather: A cold breezy morning with heavy rain at the start. The weather dried up for the 10KM and the Half Marathon races
Course: This is an undulating course with some good flat stretches on the Curragh.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Army's football team fell to the Aztecs of San Diego State 23-20, Sept. 10, in Michie Stadium, West Point N.Y. Junior Trent Steelman led the Black Knights with 157 yards rushing and 3 scores on the afternoon. Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Petry the only Medal of Honor recipient presently on active duty was honored between the first and second quarter and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and West Point Superintendent Lt. Gen. David H. Huntoon Jr. presented a memorial wreath during half-time of the game to 9/11 first responders who were in attended the game. Photo by William Hauser.
This is a photograph from the finish of the 11th annual Kinnegad 5KM Road Race and Fun Run 2022 which was held in the town of Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 13th July 2022 at 19:30. This race is organised by Coralstown Kinnegad GAA club with assistance from Coralstown Kinnegad Athletic Club. This race has firmly established itself on the local race calendar and yet again the race retains wonderful support from local clubs and runners. Like most road races this race returned from the enforced absence during the COVID-19 pandemic. The race route continues to remain the same.
The race was first run in 2010 (see the photograph link below). The race is a right handed course, flat and fast and takes runners on a traffic free route which includes 3KM on the local road 'Boreen Bradach', which is a very popular walking and jogging route around the outskirts of the town. The boreen is a flat and sheltered by hedgerow. The boreen emerges onto the main street with the finish is on the famous main street of Kinnegad in front of Harry's Hotel. This Kinnegad streetscape will be well known to many many people who traveled between the east and west of Ireland before the arrival of the motorway system which we have today. Kinnegad is situated at the intersection of the both the M6 Galway bound motorway and the M4 Sligo/Mayo bound motorway.
Tonight's weather for almost perfect for racing. The recent warm weather continued with temperatures of around 17C on the night and a light breeze. Refreshments were served in the GAA club afterwards

La alcaldesa Virginia Reginato, dio lanzamiento a la 2ª versión en Chile de la corrida “The Color Run 2014”, evento que este domingo 23 de febrero espera congregar a más de 7 mil participantes de todas las edades y lugares del país, donde Viña del Mar, la Ciudad del Deporte será por segundo año consecutivo escenario de esta espectacular corrida.
Junto a la alcaldesa, tomaron parte en el lanzamiento, los concejales Mafalda Reginato y Jaime Varas, el directos de las Escuelas de Fútbol del municipio, Gabriel “Coca” Mendoza y José Luis Fernández, director ejecutivo de Implementa Marketing Deportivo, entidad que tiene la licencia para Chile de “The Color Run”.
La jefa comunal hizo un llamado a participar de eta atractiva y colorida actividad deportiva-recreativa.
“El año pasado, esta corrida fue todo un éxito, con más de 5 mil participantes y estoy segura que el próximo domingo, quienes participen volverán a disfrutar de ella como en la primera versión. Como municipio, a través de la Casa del Deporte, hemos apoyado constantemente este tipo de iniciativas y estoy segura que los miles de corredores que tomarán parte con coloridos colores, demostrarán todas las bondades de una vida deportiva, entretenida y sana. Invito a todos los viñamarinos y a quienes nos visitan a participar de esta 2ª versión de la Color Run 2014”.
Por su parte, José Luis Fernández, de Implementa Marketing Deportiva, señaló que “para nosotros como Implementa, es un verdadero orgullo poder repetir The Color Run en Viña de Mar. Es un evento que busca desarrollar la diversión y sana competencia entre todos los participantes, una verdadera fiesta urbana, que ha sido todo un éxito en todos los países donde se ha llevado adelante la carrera. El desafío es enorme y dejamos invitados todos los amantes del runner y a quienes les gusta la vida sana a que se sumen a esta actividad”.
Hasta la fecha son más de 60 las carreras disputadas en Estados Unidos; otras en Australia, Reino Unido, Alemania y Portugal. En Chile, el año 2013 la ciudad de Viña del Mar, fue la ciudad escogida para la primera versión de esta competencia que mezcla colores y diversión, entregando un toque de amistad y entretención familiar a una carrera de 5 kilómetros.
Lo particular de la corrida es que todos los corredores competirán con poleras corporativas, ya que cada kilómetro de la carrera tendrá una tonalidad de color designada. Cuando un participante esté en la “color zone”, será bombardeado por una nube con polvos de colores, logrando al final del recorrido un mosaico de colores en el cuerpo.
La competencia que se enmarca entre las actividades oficiales del Festival de la Canción, se realizará el próximo domingo 23 de febrero, desde las 09:30 horas, y la partida se dará en el interior de Espacio Sporting. Luego el trayecto incluye avenida Los Castaños, un tramo de Avenida Padre Hurtado, para ingresar posteriormente al sector de Sausalito, donde se rodeará la laguna en su totalidad, para volver nuevamente por avenida Padre Hurtado y Los Castaños, llegando a la meta ubicada en el interior del Sporting Club.
