The two out of the three endangered species of the Piping Plover chicks made a run for it, while the last one stops just long enough to get a meal.
First run of electric unit 671.002 (971.002) after instalation of mobile part of ETCS (level 2). Unit drived from the Košice (where the instalation was made), through the Žilina to Bratislava (where this picture was taken) and back to Žilina. Unit 671.002 is the first of 10 units of class 671, which are going to have mobile part of ETCS for now. Next one is 671.008 (971.008).

Leith Run enters the Ohio River near Newport Ohio. There is also a recreation area and camp ground here . In the spring when the Ohio tends to be muddy and high the water from the creek backs up and floods the stream basin leading into the river. We had a pretty wet early May and so there was some flooding when I visited in early May. As I visited the sky alternated between threatening clouds and sun. I liked the contrast of the rain clouds moving in but was happy when the clearer skys prevailed.
