Those of you that have watched deer a lot know this behavior. They'll come to a road that they cross twice each day, every day. They'll look and look while it's all clear and then, just as a car is nearing, they'll take off running. This good looking buck has just cleared the road.
We have a great crop of middle aged bucks, like this guy. I'm encouraged about the future.
Although the storm clouds had been building for some these kids didn't take much notice. Then with a couple of nearby lightning bolts, they decided to make a hurried exit from the water. Subic Bay, Luzon, Philippines
It was magical how the squirrel could manage to escape the falcon and lived. The distance between the two is just inches, and the falcon is lightning fast, the fastest bird in the air! What a lucky squirrel!!!

Thanks for stopping by.
La Jolla Cove, San Diego, California is a popular place to watch seals. Most of the time, they are lying on the beach sun bathing.
This baby seal was an exception. Maybe it was the power of youth, maybe it was energy from an exceptionally tasty breakfast. The kid went into the ocean then crawled back on the beach for several times.
Crawling is not an effortless task for a seal, especially at high speed-proofed by the sand and water particles pushed up by its thrusts. However, the young seal obviously enjoyed it. I did, too.
Cropped from the original frame, just to zoom in more.

I was spoiled with this shot, or rather series of shots. I put the camera to my eye to try and get a shot of the repetition in the brick gate piers and perhaps a little human interest in the same shot. It was just chance that the kid broke into a swift run and i caught a whole series of shots which were gold-dust. This one was best - I think the pose was most natural. Pretty pleased with this happenstance

During the summer of 2008, I spent a lot of time volunteering at the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso. One of the perks of being part of the crew was getting to ride in the crew car behind 1225 on an excursion from Owosso to Alma and back. Upon arriving in Alma, the train was turned on the Mid Michigan RR's wye, and then 1225 was serviced for the trip south. My friends Steven, Cam and myself were charged with greasing the running gear and dumping the ash pan. Talk about hard and dirty work! It was worth it though, and on the southbound trip we were treated to a few photo run-bys at Ithaca. 1225 is seen here roaring south past the line of onlookers, the engine crew really made her bark for these run-bys!

This waterfall located in a canyon in the Zion National Park wilderness is normally a trickle most of the year but with the recent moisture and spring run off it became spectacular.

I reached a stage in my life that I see that the only thing I've done so far has been run away, run away from myself, my anything, and now I have nowhere to go, I do not know what I'll do, I was very bad at all.
