Runners from all over the Southeast and beyond participate in the 17th Annual USMC Mud Run, Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010. The annual event benefits the Greater Columbia Marine Foundation, and has grown to the largest Mud Run in North America with more than 14,000 participants. I was shooting birds in the shadows when Chloe made a run for it and snapped this one quick without time to change the setting. A little bit overdone in the grass exp.
I enhanced the saturation to identify the blue tubing more clearly.
The blue tubing is pegged into the Maple tree, the sap runs through it and runs into the thicker black tubing which carries the sap down the hill to the Maple Shack. Where it is boiled.
Yield: 40 gallons of sap = 1 gallon of Maple syrup !
It was a lovely, calm early morning in Scarborough, perfect for a run for some and street photography for me.
Born To Run
Bruce Springsteen
The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybody's out on the run tonight
But there's no place left to hide
Together Wendy we can live with the sadness
I'll love you with all the madness in my soul
H-Oh, Someday girl I don't know when
We're gonna get to that place
Where we really wanna go
And we'll walk in the sun
But till then tramps like us
Baby we were born to run
Oh honey, tramps like us
Baby we were born to run
Come on Wendy, tramps like us
Baby we were born to run
A two image blend from this mornings shoot with the Focus South Crew at Little Bay. The sky and the water in the distance was a single image shot for 6 minutes. The rocks and water in the foreground was another single image, shot at 0.5 sec. Had fun creating this one. Blended and reworked in PS CS5.
Hope you like "Born To Run"....cheers, Mike
This shot was taken while in the line for the Smugglers Run attraction at Disney Hollywood Studios. This is supposed to be some kind of engine under repair. Every once in a while lights would come on as if it was coming to life.

The cheetah is a big cat that inhabits most of Africa and parts of Iran. The cheetah can run as fast as 109.4 to 120.7 km/h, faster than any other land animal. It covers distances up to 500 m in short bursts, and can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in three seconds.

Just prior to sunrise this past Sunday morning where the creek Rock Run enters the Susquehanna River. The sky was very pretty there for my daughter and I at sunrise.
f/16 at 4 Seconds (the 4 seconds was enough to smooth out the flow from the creek to get the smooth muted reflection in the water and see the details under the water surface too.) This was captured with the Hoya ND64 filter (6 stops).
If you look at the post below in the comments you will also note that this earlier morning shot you can see a difference in the water level, which I do not remember noting while out there. The water level in the river dropped some while we were there (about 30 minutes between the shots).
I assume this was from the tide potentially where the river enters the Chesapeake Bay not far down river from this location - couple miles.
92214 makes a high speed run through Quorn with the demonstration PO mail drop and pick-up.
The loco was making a rapid percussive beat, announcing arrival well before a sighting, but the spring-like warmth reduced the steam exhaust which reduces the visual impact, but not the pleasure of the large crowds which had gathered at the GCR Winter Gala

This is the 3rd and final view of Cole Run Falls. It is also my favorite as there is a root that creates an arch about 16" off the ground and creates a perfect frame for the waterfall. Not sure who first discovered this POV but I was inspired by it. I guess this is why we follow fellow photogs.
