I was spoiled with this shot, or rather series of shots. I put the camera to my eye to try and get a shot of the repetition in the brick gate piers and perhaps a little human interest in the same shot. It was just chance that the kid broke into a swift run and i caught a whole series of shots which were gold-dust. This one was best - I think the pose was most natural. Pretty pleased with this happenstance

When we moved into this house we had a run built on the back of the house just for Shizandra. This means she can stay outside alone without having to be tied up.

DB class 218 "Rabbits" 218 385-3 and 218 340-8 rumble across the Kiel Canal bridge at Hochdonn and onto the "Dithmarschen" heading the 11:16 Hamburg Hauptbahnhof to Westerland (Sylt) on Friday 27th October 2017. These 1970s-built locos remind me so much of the transitional days from steam to diesel traction on DB. (Classes 215 and 216). Then I would rarely point my camera at such traction, but now I have some nostalgic affection for them! The 'rabbit ears' are a later mid-1980s addition of extended exhaust devices to prevent overhead wires being covered in particulates and to direct the exhaust flow clear of the train.

It was magical how the squirrel could manage to escape the falcon and lived. The distance between the two is just inches, and the falcon is lightning fast, the fastest bird in the air! What a lucky squirrel!!!

At this time of year the mountain creeks and streams are swelling with the run off of melting snow. I just love sitting by these streams and listening to the water flow.
