Shoe: Look at me. Am I not wonderful?
Lady: You are the most wonderful shoe in the world. I fall to my knees and weep with pleasure when I am with you.
Pause
Lady: You are BEAUTY, you are truth. In you I find my SALVATION.
Shoe: Thank you. You are a nice lady.

I have resolved to try to use photoshop more this year, I need lots of practice as you can see. This shot inspired by a visit to The WIzard of Oz last night at The Lowry Theatre.

These socks were knit from my own pattern, which I really don't consider a complete success. I was trying to design something that would work well with handpainted yarns, but I didn't really achieve my desired effect. The stitch pattern I used (I thought it was "Checkered Acre" from Barbara Walker's first stitch dictionary, but upon closer inspection, it's not, so I don't know what the stitch pattern is, except something that I jumbled up) is highly textured. For this reason, I kept the patterning on the leg only, and went with a 3x3 ribbing on the foot. Otherwise, I think the socks would have been terribly uncomfortable in shoes.

Day 333-Cinema Tuesday-Wizard of Oz
Tonight was a screening of Wizard of Oz and it was quite a treat to see it on the big screen! We got there and there were little cakes waiting for us with different things. I got ruby slippers and my Mum got Glinda the Good Witch.
I took my Nana with us as well and she enjoyed it a lot.
