Lady: You are the most wonderful shoe in the world. I fall to my knees and weep with pleasure when I am with you.

The black background has been over-sprayed with glitter spray - so it really sparkles!

I have resolved to try to use photoshop more this year, I need lots of practice as you can see. This shot inspired by a visit to The WIzard of Oz last night at The Lowry Theatre.

Dorothy's Shoes - Now at the Air and Space Museum!

These socks were knit from my own pattern, which I really don't consider a complete success. I was trying to design something that would work well with handpainted yarns, but I didn't really achieve my desired effect. The stitch pattern I used (I thought it was "Checkered Acre" from Barbara Walker's first stitch dictionary, but upon closer inspection, it's not, so I don't know what the stitch pattern is, except something that I jumbled up) is highly textured. For this reason, I kept the patterning on the leg only, and went with a 3x3 ribbing on the foot. Otherwise, I think the socks would have been terribly uncomfortable in shoes.

Starlight Theatre's Wizard of Oz Production

Day 333-Cinema Tuesday-Wizard of Oz

Tonight was a screening of Wizard of Oz and it was quite a treat to see it on the big screen! We got there and there were little cakes waiting for us with different things. I got ruby slippers and my Mum got Glinda the Good Witch.

I took my Nana with us as well and she enjoyed it a lot.

It had to be the rubby slippers and the poppies from 'Wizard of Oz' - my favourite!

Dorothy's magic ruby slippers. Looks like that yellow brick road was not kind to them.

You can never have too many pairs of shoes! All wardrobes should include a magical pair such as Ruby Slippers to take you to OZ and of course those fabulous pink ballet pumps for partying the night away, go on ... ‘Put on your dancing shoes!’

That is what the button on her coat says! I had the wrong lens on (as usual) when she walked by....hence the cut off head....however I had to share this wonderful lady with you. Please note her sparkly red shoes totally match her sequin red scarf.
