The Findyhoppers and Les ReBelles do their dance routine for the spectators at the Mermaid Parade at Coney Island last weekend. My wife Laura can be seen right under the overhead traffic light. Leica R4, Summicron 50mm f/2, Fujifilm Superia Xtra 400 (expired), ECN-2 development.
It's the simple, routine things that we do for our loved ones that we remember when those days have passed us by. Yesterday I got to spend a few minutes with my oldest daughter Jami and her two sons, Jack and Hank. For a moment I remembered Jami not as the responsible adult mother she is but as the little girl who said "yake" instead of "lake" when she was learning to talk. In this photograph, I might see something you don't see -- a much older man, sitting alone, staring out his window, remembering how small that arm was as he cradled it in his hand and how gently he rubbed on the sun screen. That's what I see.
Just going to court for some unpaid fines, but the detention officer put me in full transport restraints. I look like a soyboy, have always been mister nice guy, but now I feel like taken seriously, perhaps for the first time in my life.
My niece has taken up synchronised swimming this year and gave us a demonstration, working through several routines and showing a wide variety of moves.
When I was in Japan, I used to go to Starbucks everyday, one two or three times a day!
I've always loved the athmosphere of Starbucks Coffee bars; however when I'm in London I rarely go there. I think that the Starbucks espresso here in UK is not good at all, while in Japan it was delicious (being Italian, I am very picky about espresso)!
Most of all, I enjoyed going to Starbucks because there are plenty of photo opportunities there! Cool people to shoot, nice Starbucks mugs, warm lights that make beautiful bokeh... :)
Ah....did I mention that it rained almost the whole time I was in Tokyo? So it was good to have a confortable and relaxing place to rest and chat with a good friend...

With that kind of in-depth, well-articulated word picture, I'm guessing this is of NASA origin. Loosely supported by the lack of a signature.
A really really nice work by Boeing artist/illustrator Bart Hunt. Even at just a minimal/moderate distance, it legitimately looks like a photograph.
The numeral 7 on the orbiter possibly reflects the optimism of the size of the shuttle fleet, along with the mundane identification one would ascribe based on the expectation of numerous & routine missions.

Some strong colours and light here to celebrate the glorious weather of this weekend.
Content wise this street scene would work well with a nice fado as a soundtrack, where it not that while processing this pic the word 'routine' and a song with the same title entered my mind. Well let's look upon it as Dutch urban fado - check out the Urban Dance Squad. The band bursted on the music scene in the 2nd half of the 80s and pioneered a smart blend of rock, scratch and rap music.
