"Route Irish" is the military name for the Qādisīyah Expressway. It is about 10-12 km long and links the Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) to the fabled Green Zone (also / now know as the International Zone or IZ).
Rt. Irish used to be known as the deadliest road in the world. Like anything, superlative titles are hard to keep. An improved security situation (note I didn't say it is safe) has helped Irish loose the infamous moniker.
