Its round shape makes it easy to assemble. The steel pieces fit together securely without requiring any tools.

It's like WrestleMania only flowery. You may have think I've gone flower crazy and maybe I have but I just got a new camera and flowers seemed the perfect thing to try the Sony DSC-H20 on. I make a note of the model only because it's so new on market that there is a lack of info on it still. Flickr doesn't even have it on official file.

I have decided to kick things up a notch for 2011. I will stop pretending to play dumb about flowers. I have learned a lot about them since I started taking photos of them two years ago.

I have also come up with the idea of using flickr's super search engine to help other people identify common flowers. Simply type descriptions of the flower in flickr search using my photostream and words such as "unusual shape pink flower" and the matching flowers on my stream will come up and voila! You should be able to find the right flower and identify it. It is still a work in progress but hopefully by the season's end I will have identified over 250 types of flowers :) You may also get an overview by looking at the Flora set ! I think I am going to call it Flower IDâ„¢, like Caller IDâ„¢.

I originally labeled these as zinnias or mums but the floral ninja steered me right...it's a dahlia, dahling.

When I was taking this roll, I thought the lens was flipped. If the lens had been flipped, I think the bowling ball would have been in focus.

White Ornamental Onion at the High Line. Part of my photo project using flickr's search engine to identify flowers. Simply use flickr search on my photostream and type color and shape of the flower such as "white round shape flower" and some close matches should come up for you to identify it correctly. Or just view my Flora set.

I'm not a flower photo guy but I started taking more when my BFF says she likes 'em. UPDATE : In case you didn't read below, this is a peony.
