The male Chaffinch is a very pretty and colourful bird with orangey pink breasts and cheeks, a grey blue cap with orange brownish back and they are a similar size to the Robin. These birds enjoy eating invertebrates, but as the year goes on they will start eating seeds. The male Chaffinch starts looking for a breeding area in early February but the nest building will not begin until at least April, the nests are round in shape and are quite delicate they use moss, grass, spiders webs and they are lined with feathers, they favour nesting in trees, hedges and bushes. The female starts to lays her eggs between April to June with a clutch of four or five eggs and the young chicks fledge when they are about 13 days old.

The beautiful Palo Verde trees are in bloom everywhere in Phoenix, AZ. It made for an interesting B&W effect, really separating the bicycle's shape from the background. #RoundShapes
A four-tier stack of peppercorns, pyramid-shaped, or like a pile of cannonballs. For #MacroMondays #Condiment and #FlickrFriday #RoundShapes. (Black pepper is my favorite condiment.)

The September month is the second anniversary of Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong.

Many activists in the movement now won the Legco election.

The European Balloon Festival is the largest hot air balloon festival in Spain and one of the largest in Europe. It takes place every year during the first fortnight of July in Igualada, Catalonia, Spain, a city located within 60 km from Barcelona.
The festival lasts four days (Thursday to Sunday) and attracts thousands of spectators. It includes a hot air balloon competition and recreational exhibitions such as a night glow and fireworks. The flights take place early in the morning and late in the afternoon, when weather conditions are the optimal ones. It also offers visitors the opportunity to fly on a balloon, by booking a flight in advance.
The festival is organized by the Igualada City Council, with technical support from the company Ultramagic, the world's second largest manufacturer of hot air balloons, and Kon-Tiki Balloon Flights, a company specialized in balloon flights.
- From Verdens Ende, southernmost coast of Norway.
It was past 5 am after a cool night, and the sunrise cast an almost magical lightshow
which lasted a long time and that reflected well in the smooth, roundshaped rock surface.
On my way to my favorite place to shoot, I found this beach slipper that someone had lost and shot it right there...but I didn`t shoot no deputy!

Everything in this shot that looks like water is actually ice. It is also monochrome in its palette but not actually a black and white photo. It’s one of those photos that you take and love. I hope you like it too.
Don’t try to think that a round table discussion means everyone is on equal status.
Sometimes even the chairperson is not the one who makes the final decision in a meeting.
The most surreal or "realistic" thing is that many times the real decision maker is not even present in the meeting room!
Who is the more powerful person in this round table discussion here in your opinion? :o)
A candid scene I saw in Metrotown Shopping Mall before Christmas.
Have a great Tuesday!

The Mykonos windmills are an iconic feature of the Greek island of the Mykonos. The island is one of the Cyclades islands, which neighbor Delos in the Aegean Sea. The windmills can be seen from every point of the village of Mykonos, the island's principal village, which is frequently called the Chora (which translates to "Country" in Greek but refers to an island's "Town") on Greek islands.
The windmills are the first thing seen when coming into the harbor of Alefkandra, as they stand on a hill overlooking the area. Most windmills face towards the North where the island's climate sources its strongest winds over the largest part of the year.
There are currently 16 windmills on Mykonos of which seven are positioned on the landmark hill in Chora. Most of them were built by the Venetians in the 16th century, but their construction continued into the early 20th century. They were primarily used to mill wheat. They were an important source of income for the inhabitants. Their use gradually declined until they ceased production in the middle of the 20th century. The architecture of each of them is similar, all have a round shape, white color and a pointed roof and very small windows. Such windmills are found in almost all Cyclades islands. One of these windmills has been transformed into a museum. The whole village of Chora and part of the harbor are visible from this point.
