Walking farther down the beach, we came across this grouping of unusual round shells. This is just the way Mother nature arranged them - I only moved a piece of debris away.
Does anyone know how to get more sun dapple with a point and shoot? Specifically I would like more light dots...maybe it's all just luck...

More of my efforts at kicking up my flower photos up a notch and learning to identify them using the flickr photo search. Use flickr search on my photostream and type in flower color and shape to identify the flowers such as "purple round shape flowers". Or view my Flora Set.

Wat Nang Phaya was built in early Ayutthaya period, circa 16th century AD. This is a large Buddhist monastery which is located in the main axis of Si Satchanalai town. So it should be an important temple at the ancient time, but it did not appear on any historic chronicles. The main stupa of Wat Nang Phaya is a roundshape with an arch in each side. It looks similar to the main stupa of Wat Phra Sri Sanphet in Ayutthaya which was built in the same time period. The main vihara or ordination hall of Wat Nang Phaya is a 7 room building. Built by laterite block and limestone plaster, the particition decorated with beautiful stucco reliefs. The stucco pattern of Wat Nang Phaya displays the art influence from Chinese culture and Lanna culture. Nowadays, the local goldsmiths develop the stucco pattern from Wat Nang Phaya to make the famous souvenir "Ancient Gold of Si Satchanalai".
My "new" Brownie Hawkeye obviously has a very dirty lens. This is my first attempt at particpating in the Brownie Hawkeye Flash Sept/Oct 2008 Challenge , so I decided to go ahead and post it anyway. I'll try again with a clean lens next time!

I am just making up names until I can figure out what this is called...Photos from Green Dome Garden at McCarren Park. UPDATED: Centaurea a.k.a. Cornflower a.k.a. Star Thistle.
Taken at the 2011 Macy's Flower Show in NYC.
I have decided to kick things up a notch for 2011. I will stop pretending to play dumb about flowers. I have learned a lot about them since I started taking photos of them two years ago.
I have also come up with the idea of using flickr's super search engine to help other people identify common flowers. Simply type descriptions of the flower in flickr search using my photostream and words such as "unusual shape flower" and the matching flowers on my stream will come up and voila! You should be able to find the right flower and identify it. It is still a work in progress but hopefully by the season's end I will have identified over 250 types of flowers :) You may also get an overview by looking at the Flora set ! I think I am going to call it Flower IDâ„¢.
I have no idea what happened with this shot, but there was debris galore on the image. This whole roll turned out totally dusty and messy, as a matter of fact - I'm guessing the BHF needs a cleaning, and my new apartment is dustier than my old one!
