The third last biomass delivery to Ironbridge has just arrived, and 66760 has detached and retreated past the rake of hoppers as the shunter stands by with lamp in hand.
As prompted in the comments below (cheers Mike), weather report - raining, windy, grotty, dreich, in fact, pretty awful!
The working was 6G60, the 15.07 Liverpool Bulk Terminal to Ironbridge Power Station, having arrived 6 late at 19.45. It left 2 hours later as 4F90, back to Liverpool. Monday 16.11.15

Stained glass watercolor painting on Arches paper, 12"X16". Stained glass pattern courtesy of Chantal Paré. In the watercolor class I teach, students practiced color mingling and wet-in-wet in a controlled manner by using one of her stained glass patterns.

Taken for the Jules' Photo Challenge Group:
We are going to have a scavenger hunt, but not just any scavenger hunt...this one will take place in a cemetery/graveyard!
Here are the rules for this month:
All photos must be taken on the same day (Between Oct 01- Oct 28) in a single cemetery of your choosing.
No recycled photos allowed.
Some subjects require more than one shot, you may collage them or post individually, whichever you prefer.
If you find all of the objects on the list, you will have 31 photos.
(1 tombstone that is a sphere or a cube)
So I didn't get all the scavenger items in the cemetery- didn't find a fleur de lis, didn't find any Halloween or Fall decorations on graves, and nobody born in the 2000s- it's an old cemetery. How wonderful to explore a graveyard I've never been in before! Thanks, Jules, for another great adventure!
When we found a box of tintype pins at the antique show I wanted to pick out a couple to buy but Jack was so taken with the faces that he decided we had to have all six. The size of the round tintypes range from 1 ¼ inches for the baby to only about ¼ inch for the woman and boy in the double pin. You see this listed as mourning pins on the internet but they can also be tokens of affection worn by a proud mother or exchanged by friends.

Seen on route 605 at Totteridge & Whetstone Station.
The second journey on route 605 travels all the way to Totteridge & Whetstone Station, where the bus turns round via a marked turning circle in the station car park. Not my finest shot but a capture of the bus having completed the turning manouevere and now exiting the car park for return to Edgware garage.

York railway station boasts a majestically curved platform (and roof to match!!). It is one of the longest sections of curved platform in the UK I believe.
I met up with a couple of friends yesterday, and travelled by train. I had a bit of time to spare before the journey so I took a few shots around the station whilst I was waiting.
It was the sweeping bend which really caught my eye here, and the train waiting on the far left side adds a bit of interest.
I know I often say it, but this one really is worth pressing L and then F11 to see the details.

My choice for a subject this week is Yellow Cars. All but one of my images this week were taken this year. Why "Yellow Cars"? I have owned and driven a yellow car and loved it! The yellow looked good with soft spring greens, with rich summer greens, with autumn's oranges and browns, and especially I thought with winter white. Not to be overlooked, I could always find it in a mall parking lot. And, no, I was never stopped for speeding! I have very pleasant positive memories of my beloved yellow car!

37 262 and 37261 run around their coaching stock at Thurso after arriving on the early morning service from Inverness on 22 July 1983.
Double headers were not unusual between Inverness and Georgemas Junction, used as a means of swapping the loco that would work the other portion at the split for Wick/Thurso. However double headers into Thurso on service trains were rare.
In this instance one of the locos was found to have brake issues when split at Georgemas and unable to work on its own. A bus was found for the Wick passengers and the pair worked to Thurso then back to Inverness. A replacement was sent north on the service we passed at Brora.
