Built for the Rogue One group vignettes at Legoland Star Wars Days 2017! So many other fun additions by other builders!
What an Easter Surprise this was! I really didnt think the parts I needed would come this fast so I was stoked when I found this in the mail. Here is basically a really bad picture of it in flight mode. Seriously this picture is a photographers nightmare in terms of doing anything right... but its just too big for any of my backgrounds and I don't have a stand either so this will have to do for now. Disregarding the bad photo, I love the way this thing looks in flight mode, Its absolutely massive! the wingspan and height are just straight up ridiculous and I love it!
The wait is finally over! Rogue One is here!

Thanks for looking. I appreciate feedback!
While awkward looking from underneath, the Tie Striker is beautiful and...striking from above. It was easily the best new ship from Rogue One.
This design is to minifig scale and has room for both the pilot and the bombardier in the rear. In addition, I was able to include pivoting wings that do hold their position. A very fun build.

I really love this view.
It's hard to see here but we can see the seats from the bottom windshield, and in other angles the pilots.

My new Yavin IV Rebel Base Briefing Room diorama featuring General Jan Dodonna briefing pilots on the the attack on the first Death Star from Star Wars: A New Hope.
The model is built of 1160 pieces and includes one great wall display with printed Death Star schematic pattern, 9x seats for minifigures, and more. An all-black frame makes for a premium display.

A sample of some of the fantastic street art in Glasgow (Girl with Magnifying Glass by Smug aka Sam Bates) & the ( Taxi Balloons on the left wall by Rogue One aka Bobby McNamara).
These are a majority of the next wave of Lego Star Wars sets coming out at the beginning of 2017! Though we still have yet to see pictures for the Desert Skiff, Luke's Landspeeder, and another currently unnamed set with Lando Calrissian. Also, I left out the micro-fighters and buildable figures because not as many people care about those.
Top row, left to right - "Battle On Scarif", "Y-Wing Starfighter", "The Phantom"
Bottom row, left to right - "Yoda's Jedi Starfighter", "Duel On Naboo", "Imperial Trooper Battlepack", "Rebel Trooper Battlepack"

Same pictures as the size comparison but I've edited the official set out.

Before and after comparison (stock photo of set 75055). The overall size is about 10% larger. Smoothing the hull has had the biggest effect. I used a Revell model as reference for armor plate and blister placement.
This is a heavy mod of LEGO set 75055. The model has had the internal playset removed, a complete ventral hull added with main hangar, detailed engines, and new command tower. The model has been slightly enlarged to 1/2700 scale and is 23.5" long. It is also configurable as both versions of the Star Destroyer, the Mk I as seen in Rogue One and A New Hope, and the Mk II as seen in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The command tower, main batteries, and dorsal axial cannons are modular and easily swapped to convert between versions. The Mk I also has removable waist mounted quad cannons and engine thrust vanes, and there is a microscale Tantive IV Corellian Corvette that while slightly overscale still fits perfectly in the main hangar and can be attached there.
I only tentatively would call this a complete rebuild. Almost nothing is shared between this and the old design, but I didn't actually start from scratch. Because of that, there are a few elements in this dating back all the way to my first Y-Wing ever. But very, very little dates back that far. Very little even dates back to the last version, so, a rebuild it is.
I had to remove the opening canopy, and lie the pilot almost flat on his back. Looking at it now, I don't think that's much of a problem. The upside of having a better shaped head is much more worth it. Also - I want to give some instructions to you guys. If there's something in particular you want to see, voice your opinion in the comments below!
So, first of all - How great was Twin Suns? For those not in the know, that was the episode of Rebels where Kenobi faced off against Maul. However, in the episode, we got a good shot of the Hammerhead Corvette, and I was able to confirm a size estimate I had made earlier - this is in fact slightly smaller than a Corellian Corvette! So, enjoy!

Ever since building and sharing my miniature diorama of the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge layout based on the early Imagineering concept art in 2016 (long before the official name had been announced and many referred to the developing expansions at the time as “Star Wars Land,”) I had convinced myself that I was going to build larger, minifigure-scale sections of Batuu once the land was open and the details of Black Spire Outpost could be experienced up close and personal.
After pouring through as many reference photos, videos, and concept art as I could get my hands on, I now present a minifg-scale display of the entrance/facade to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction, home of Ohnaka Transport Solutions.
With the iconic Millennium Falcon docked out front of the curved hangar bay, beneath the rocky spires of an alien world, this section of Galaxy’s Edge is perhaps what we all think of when we think of a perfect amalgamation of the visual aesthetics of not only the Galaxy’s Edge experience, but Star Wars in general. I worked diligently to capture all the details I could pack in at this scale, attempting to blend the natural landscape of the Batuu spires with the weathered and lived-in hangar building. Using the 75257 version of the Falcon (with some minor exterior modifications and added greebles), the rest was built up and around to create a bustling corner of Black Spire Outpost for Hondo Ohnaka to conduct his smuggling operations, while avoiding the suspicion of the First Order patrols.
Thanks for checking out my design! Good journeys to you all— Til the spire!
Rogue One is one of my favorite SW movie. And one of the reason I love it is the design of the ships.
They don't simply dig out old concept art from McQuarrie, they create new ones which fits perfectly in the SW universe.
So naturally I needed them in my collection, 75155 is cool, and with a little mod it's awesome but it require UCS level design.
And here's the result.
Parts : 3006
Dimension : 86 x 30 x 14 cm (closed wings)
Dimension : 79 x 110 x 14 cm (open wings)
As always it's the first version, I need to build it and make sure it work before releasing the files (for free of course).
I'm not convinced by the color scheme of the 75155, I think blue and yellow give a flashy and new look. I used dark blue and tan and avoided giving to much details to keep a sleek look.
I still need to build the landing gear and adapt a seat for K2.
There's no locking system for the Wings right now.
The blue squadron color scheme should follow.
I’ve managed to collect all of the Ghost crew but have been struggling to display them. In the end the amazing 75312 Slave 1 inspired me to try midi-scale and I managed to put this together! She’s 27cm long, 21cm wide, weighs in at 695g and the parts cost is around £85. She’ll holds all six crew (although they’re all sitting and lying down) and I managed to get a sturdy little stand right under the centre of gravity. I’ve also made tiny Phantoms 1 & 2 that can hold Chopper.
