Another 1st dev failure from the Tetenal E6 kit. Added 10ml of Rodinal to the 1st dev and ran a test shot on expired Ektachrome. Developed with a moderate success.

Yesterday I took out the 10x8 Wista that I'm borrowing. The case and tripod are so big and heavy that I had to wheel them around on a hand trolly.
Fortunately this shot was close to the car. My spot meter came in really handy for metering this scene. I cut the dev time by 1 minute to pull back the highlights. That's the sun up there on the top left. You've gotta love the dynamic range of film :-)

This is the result of an experiment. I read somewhere that my beloved Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G works okay on a film camera like an N80 so long as you shoot almost wide open. Otherwise you get pretty severe vignetting. Well, this was shot at f/2 and I had to crop quite a bit to loose the dark corners. As you can see, some of the vignetting remains. Much as I love the 35mm focal length, I don't think I'll be using this combo much.
Okay, Rodinal. While these images are over cooked it's not a bad choice for the film. Strong contrast, sharp edges, and not much increase in grain (which goes without saying on all three counts). But how to fix these? Well I have three ideas, increase dilution, decrease time, or decrease the EI I shot these at.
