Well here is my first attempt at light painting. The lighting from the right is a candle in a red globe and I was lighting the rocking chair with a flashlight through blue glass. If the night is clear, I am hoping to light up my flowering plum tree. Wish me luck.
I think this will be the last of Mallory's monthly rocking chair pictures. Maybe I'll take them every 6 months or every year.
You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear
voices singing, "Let's be jolly
Deck the halls with boughs of holly!"
we arrived in NC and were welcomed with rocking chairs, they were all over the airport. wilmington also had free wifi, the only other airport besides PDX that we've been to. after we left here we took a cab ride to our 1 night hotel which our driver gladly told us he wouldn't let his dog sleep there and that it was well known for drug dealers living there and even murders. we slept well!

i haven't slept in weeks?
i've been up chasing my childhood with a pen
these are the dreams old men dream

Since about 1850, every child on my mother’s side of the family has used this little rocker and all their names and birthdates are written on the bottom. Several years ago my mother had a piece of wood cut so that it could be attatched to the bottom, to add the more recent “sitters”. I thought the “aurora” texture was very fittingly used on here because the writing is similar to what is on the bottom of the chair.
This is more or less right across the road of the plantation here scenes of "Gone with the wind" were shot.
