Michael de Forest; Rocking Chair, Poplar, Bent wood veneer, Incised Line Carving, Milk paint; 34h x 25w x 24d

If you're local and would like to add this fine piece of furniture to your collection, don't hesitate to let me know.

It's real wood! It's from Cost Plus! I've had it for 7 years but have given in to the fact that it's just a bit too big for our apartment. Wouldn't it look great in your living room? (Or bedroom? Or guest room? Or any room that needs a rocking chair...)

and a whole lotta sun

These two were too cute not to photograph. My mom made Raggedy Ann (she was an amazing sewer!) and bought Andy to match because he happened to be the same size. She had me buy a Raggedy Ann and Andy book that they are reading in their rocking chair in the yard. hee hee! Nothing like reading your own biography.

I had these 3 shots and just couldn't decide which I liked best. Included a close-up in the comments here. Another in my stream. Thoughts?

or else you're blinded, I mean.

I'd be sad to find out that the person who lives here was _actually_ blind, and the colour was on accident.

White oak drink table to match my rockers

I'm just tickled about all the things this beautiful little chair could display: A pot of flowers on the porch in the summer? A teddy bear by the fireplace this winter? A favorite rag doll in the bedroom? You decide!

These little rockers measure 20" high and 12" wide. They are impressively sturdy and surprisingly light. They are made out of aspen cut off our land. The seats and backs are made out of recycled crate pieces, all planed smooth. They will arrive in unfinished beauty, but can easily be finished if you wish to display them in the outside elements.

On my sister's rocking chair.

I had my mom bring me to the thrift store to find a dress because I really wanted to do a shot like this today. It didn't come out how I had planned, but I suppose it's alright.

P.S.

The Yin to Patrick's Yang. She actually makes Patrick lay down in submission before she walks near him. It is beautiful.

Maddie: Awwww, I want to go outside and play basketball.

Bud: Maddie, we need to wait for the rain to stop. But at this rate, I think we have a very long wait.

The Geographic room

Poppy and Jim, together in their recently adopted roost: the rocking chair in the corner of the kitchen.

(A bit blurred, I know, but taken without flash and hand-held.)

The sun was coming in just right to take some realistic photos of the kids' doll house.

One thing I really liked about this small historic university are all the rocking chairs and places to study outside that they offer. These chairs were located outside the Carlton Union Building. For post-processing info, check out my blog at www.digitalladysyd.com/?p=3587.
