Problem- camel toe
This problem could probably be solved by making the crotch a bit smaller, though that means it doesn't cover behind *quite* so well.

We were visiting the small village where I spent summers as a child and had lots of new things to photograph. There is a very old barn filled with interesting old things...felt a bit like visiting a ghost town! I found myself in the barn whenever the light seemed hopeful.
I want to make her a music box so that she can read fairytales and rock in her chair while singing along to her favorite song! Her body doesn't pose well so that's why her arms look slightly unnaturally posed.
We bought two large garden rockers last Summer, and they were great. The problem was, they couldn't stay out all seasons and they took up room in the shed. A lot of room.
After many false starts - including the idea of suspending them from the shed roof - I worked out that I could hang them on the wall! And in the end it only took an hour.
Here's the first one in position, shot from both sides so you can see the mounting bracket (there's now also a small secondary bracket at the bottom, supporting the footrest).
Pleased with self.
sitting with a sleeping 30+lb baby KID on my lap has made me realize my computer chair lacks comfort. I wish I still had this yellow rocking chair.

I have loved miniatures for as long as I can remember. I have a few things, as you can see, but one day I'd like to get a dollhouse--the kind you build yourself. Something about tiny versions of normal, life-sized things gets me all excited.
A view of the library mantle with Greek key pattern and the fireplace. Small objects line the mantle. Flanking each side are bookcases, and in front of them, are a rocking chair on the left and an armchair on the right. Circa 1910-1920. Shambaugh Coll MS 100

for odin's second birthday we decided to give him a simple rocking chair with the hope that maybe someday soon he himself would choose on some lazy afternoon to while away the time rocking himself gently while reading a good book. because what toddler doesn't enjoy uninterrupted periods of rocking while reading while his parent's get a little free time to accomplish the long list of chores. uh. huh. well, we'll see about that. he does like sitting in it, but there's not a whole lot of self directed reading going on yet. but maybe soon.
although the rocking chair is often considered a uniquely american invention with benjamin franklin occasionally being erroneously cited as its inventor, it likely originated in england the early to mid 1700's before being introduced to the rowdy colonists around 1750. and while we'll probably never know for certain how much of the american revolutionary war was plotted while sitting in rockers, we do know that british major general william tryon sat on a rocking chair on a hill in norwalk, connecticut while watching the city burn to the ground. and the north dakota daughters of the american revolution had the foresight to preserve general george custer's personal rocking chair which perhaps he sat in while pondering his strategy for the battle of little big horn.
so, rocking chairs aren't just for little old ladies sipping lemonade on the front porch and i guess someday we might be surprised, for better or for worse, with what Grand Plans odin concocts while rocking away the time.

Built in 1897 as Klamer's General Store, Charles Hamilton bought this store in 1915 from Henry Klamer's widow, Mary. Substantially altered in 1904 with log and twig decoration, this store epitomizes the rustic style. The rustic detailing is attributed to Robert Reamer, who had completed the nearby Old Faithful Inn the year before. The building was enlarged in 1924, and the elaborate burled log porch was added in 1925. A plaque on the porch reads "Designed and built by M.C. Schwerdt, 818 Trd. Ave, SE, Great Falls, Mont".
