A day out to Hartland .
An impressive Blackchurch rock, which is a large arch stack found at Mouthmill, provides exposures of the Hartland Quay Shale that contains goniatite fossils.researching I found that it is an isolated cove has long been associated with smuggling activities. To be able to take a photo of the giant rock so that you can see both of the holes, you need to be there when the tide is low. The left opening has a span of about 5 ft and a height 38 ft and the right opening has a span about 15 ft and a height of about 29 ft.

New Plymouth's Paritutu Rock is the remains of an ancient volcanic crater and it has an almost vertical challenging climbing track on one side leading to 360 degree views from the top.
It looks like a badly laid brick wall, but its actually rock strata protruding from the beach at Crackington Haven in north Cornwall.
Seseh Beach, Canggu, Bali
One of the famous beach in Canggu that still undeveloped Pantai Seseh (Seseh Beach ) is rugged and windswept, with dark volcanic sand.
The beach itself is nothing to shout about and locals with gather before sunset to gaze at the waves and the setting sun.
I spent 30minutes walking around the beach looking for some nice spot untill i found this vivid green rock..i was lucky ..there was no body around this spot :D
Have a nice weekend everyone~!

For the Macro Monday's theme of 'Rock'.
This is a rock or pebble that I found at Overton Mere , the Gower Peninsula on my very first WelshFlickrCymru Photo Meet in 2010. I brought it home as a trophy , but also because it intrigued me having studied Geog/ Geology in my student days.
South Gower is predominantly made up of Carboniferous Limestone complexly folded, in which synclines of Millstone Grit shales form embayments and depressions which are visible in this. Original shot in comments.
I hope it's acceptable to have included this old fossil's hand for the group.
Old rock barn. Think it was abandoned.

I think it's a Rock Wren, but I can't be sure. I remember where I took the photo - rock wren territory - in the oak grass at about 700 feet. The reason this has been in storage so long is that as I photographed the tree stump, this little brown bird came in to see what I was up to, and then took off again. Good enough to keep, but not good enough to post. Still, all I am almost positive about is that it's a female, and the trunk is a century old and very dead oak tree.
This was the week before we left for Yellowstone and the Tetons, and I was practicing with my new SX50. It and I performed beautifully in both parks. Instead of a LBB, the first day in Yellowstone, I got six lifers! Too easy, really. Five Mountain Bluebirds in the first hour, and even an Osprey which perched with the sun in MY eyes. And then cross-bills, woodpeckers, grouse... And few people. The park "opened" the day after we left :-)
Thanks to the good graces of the Iowa Northern and its great employees, we held a night photo session at Manly on May 30. Approximately 25 photographers were able to catch views like this of Rock Island E6 630 and E8 652. Huge thanks go to Chris Guss, who planned and executed all the lighting for the evening, and Rob Schreiner who provided equipment to turn on the nose lights and number boards.
California's Red Rock Canyon State Park features scenic desert cliffs, buttes and spectacular rock formations.
The park is located where the southernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada converges with the El Paso Mountains.
Each tributary canyon is unique, with vivid colors, and there always has been lots of camping spaces when we've been there.
The photo shows the Swedish rock powerhouse Greenleaf on a show during a rock festival in Wiesbaden, Germany. The band is known for their heavy riffs, psychedelic grooves, and a sound that blends classic rock swagger with modern grit. They have evolved into a full-fledged force in the European rock scene.
