Our little friendly garden Robin.. She’s so cute.. We call her ‘she’ but not sure if it’s male or female. We’ve been feeding her each day throughout the cold Winter.. Don’t know if it’s the same Robin from last year or how she survived in such freezing temperatures.

We have two Robins in our garden at the moment, the other Robin is a lot smaller, so don’t know if it’s a mate or one of her young… although she doesn’t seem happy about sharing her food with them.

Hope you’re having a nice day my dear friends..

Came and sang to me while i was sitting in the car

I am pleased to see this robin in the neighbourhood as by looking at his colours and patterns I can see he is a local robin who has returned from his hols. LOL Yesterday for the first time in months I spotted a pied wagtail, birds I would normally see all through the year.

A winter shot of our Chorus Master which somehow hasn't seen the light of day until now. This little Robin would sing all day long and was happy to pose for the occasional photoshoot.

still so cold here, but the robins do not seem to mind

Happy little fellow singing from the fence.

Near the river Tay in Dunkeld yesterday.

A classic robin red breast perched nicely in the sun! I first tried saving this as a jpeg but the colour wasnt as vivid as it should be (I dont know if this is a problem with Photoshop CS3?) so I saved this as a compressed TIF instead and the colour information was far better. Might look into saving all photos like this in the future...

Nikon D800. First try of the Nikon 300mm F4 with a 1.7TC. Some loss of IQ but reasonably happy for my first attempt and I have only just started to take bird photos in the last week so lots to learn.

Hooray my first Robin!

The European robin is a small garden bird found throughout Europe and northern parts of Africa. The European robin grows to around 12-14cm in length and their most distinctive feature is the brightly coloured orange breast feathers.

The European robin is a diurnal hunter and can regularly be spotted in gardens and parks throughout the day. It is famously unnerved by the presence of people and is often drawn towards human activity.

This little individual was no different and joined me whilst I was eating lunch recently. He perched on this nearby bush, looking for some free food, and I was able to get this lovely shot of him looking directly down my camera lens. I have a feeling this was a fairly young animal, given that its orange breast feathers still had not quite fully developed.

just a robin...but I liked the nice clean background. Have a great Sunday whatever you are doing.

This brave little guy has his territory around the Barbary lion enclosure in Belfast zoo.

When it is a bad day they always turn up.Never let you down.

Ventured out to try and get a sunrise but the weather wasn't playing ball. This little guy was keeping me company when the light came. He was very interested in what I was up to.

I rubbed some suet from a coconut feeder onto a tree and this robin came from behind knocking the suet off.

Robins are so common where I live that I normally don't bother to photograph them. But, the thrush we call a robin doesn't exist where some of my friends live! So, here you go -- a North American robin!
