The banks of Georgian Bay are rising above the usual shoreline down at Kelso Beach. But on this early morning visit to try for the sunrise, the high waters made for some neat reflections in the blue light of dawn. These are the Owen Sound grain elevators. I am grateful we do not have to contend with the serious flooding that other parts of Canada are experiencing right now. We have another significant rainfall coming on the weekend before the water levels will eventually go down again.

In reality the sky and the rising moon was magic and so pretty. I struggled as I didn't have my tripod at hand. Here is one attempt. 179/365

Location : Oshiage 1-1-2, Sumida Ward, Tokyo Metropolitan, Japan (場所：日本国東京都墨田区押上1-1-2).
Rising cloud, sun, building and tower. We can see Tokyo Skytree from around Tokyo, anywhere. I took photo this, from Arakawa River.

C is for Cold
Ok, so the sun was shining, but having this wave come crashing down on you, it might just be a tad on the cold side :)
As the rich, golden puddle of moonbeams dances gleefully upon the borders of the crisp, sharp edged shadows of darkness, the usual nightly cacophony is strangely absent as the mist begins to shroud the forest in silence.
Something must be amiss; this is too perfect. The silence is broken, a sound like rain is coming from the creek. The water darts everywhere with the sound of a million voices whispering secrets. The air is warm and heavy, filled with the pungent scent of death. We know HE is near.....

Seeing everyone's pictures of the CRR 800 reminded me of a few outings to the C&O back in October with my friend Zach Pray. We had just finished up chasing an eastbound empty coal train down from Walbridge when we found out that this Q241 was on its way to us. Not knowing what the power was, we set up here at the signal bridge in Risingsun, Ohio and it wasn't long before a headlight appeared and the train came racing through town with this thing on the point. CSXT 4384 was chosen to lead last year's Clinchfield Santa Train and several modifications were made to the nose so it would resemble a Clinchfield locomotive.

The Monument to the Great Fire of London, more commonly known simply as the Monument, is a Doric column in the City of London, near the northern end of London Bridge, which commemorates the Great Fire of London.
The top of the Monument is reached by a narrow winding staircase of 311 steps.

Amsterdam - Amstel.
Omval is a neighbourhood situated on a peninsula on the eastern shore of the Amstel river in Amsterdam. It became the site of a major business district featuring the Rembrandt Tower, the tallest building in Amsterdam.
An etching by Rembrandt, who was known to be working in the area, depicts the Omval area in the mid-1600s (Wikipedia).
