The New Adventures of Batman is an animated series produced by Filmation in 1977 featuring the DC Comics superheroes Batman and Robin, and Batgirl. The current distributor is Warner Bros. Television due to parent company Warner Bros's ownership of DC Comics, which publishes the Batman titles. It is a continuation of the 1960's Batman TV series which had been cancelled eight years earlier.

Our new car, Lincoln 1949. 3300 Dollars. Loaded with everything a modern car should have. I wish I could invite you all to a long, long journey. Aunt, uncle and Billie.

Captured on a Chinon CE5 with a reverse-mounted 55mm K-mount lens. Focus was set on infinity and handheld at a distance of about 4 inches.

I found an address stamped on the reverse side of one of the prints:

Professor Fritz Stetefeld

Freiburg – Kaiserstr. 66

And below, handwritten in pencil:

Italienfahrt 9/25

(road trip to Italy – September 1925)

Here's some additional information on one Friedrich Stetefeld from Freiburg. Born on May 27, 1889, he was 36 years old at the time of the journey, and most probably one of the men in the photos.

This is a 50mm 1.4 lens that i reversed by holding it in my hand and focusing by moving the camera.

The effect is that you get really close to your subject and get really nice blurry background :)

Look at the height on this reverse Hex! Shayla was definitely a powerhouse on bars!

How things looked on January 2, 1996, with the Purcell St. reverser before an extension was made which saw the overhead running further east along the street to the transformer pole at right in 1997. In this scene Wellington 101 is completing the reversal manoeuvre, but sadly such sights are no more with the dismantling of this spur line and the reverser in December 2010.

Earlier today I looked at my Canon AE-1 film camera setting on my desk and noticed that I could see what was behind the camera through the lens. I'd never seen this before but it makes sense since it's just a mirror bouncing lighting through the lens and out the viewfinder.

I decided to take this a little further when I got home. I set up a light and had Sarah stand in. This picture is the AE-1 and 50mm f/1.8 lens on a tripod and I'm using my 5dmk2 and 100mm f/2.8 macro lens looking into the 50mm lens.

I found I couldn't actually get a sharp focus on Sarah but I could achieve focus on the focusing prism of the 50mm lens which results in a cool effect I think.

A visit to Reverse Garbage at Woolongabba was recommended to me recently and I was not disappointed with my visit. The shop accepts goods which otherwise were headed for landfill. They sort and sell a surprising range of items which are popular for those whose skills extend to up cycling. My purchase is on the counter with the male staff member.

Another reverse-engineering project.

I have no idea how he made the thumbs. I know I also didn't do the palms right, but I know how he did that at least. I'm also certain that I didn't form the arms right. Maybe next time...

I'm also missing some detail on the face, and some of the shaping on the body; but I don't really have a big enough piece of paper to do that anyway.

I used pictures from Hojyo's website as references, as well as some pictures on flickr (search 'hojyo buddha' and you'll see them)

UPDATE (2 hrs later): I've fixed some of the problems with the arms, thanks to a photo on the origami forum posted by Kafar. I've replaced the old photo.

Another reverse-engineering job. This wasn't as easy as it looks-- there are absolutely no references, and the proportions are vital to the success of the model. as you can see from the extra fold lines, I had to redo the head several times.

The reference photo is from Giang Dinh's webiste.

ARGOLIS. Argos. Ca. 370–350 BC. Silver stater (12.02 gm). Head of Hera right, wearing stephane ornamented with palmettes, necklace with pendant pearls around neck / [A]ΡΓΕΙΩΝ, two dolphins swimming in opposite directions, vine branch with grape cluster between them. Traité III 621. BMC 38. Extremely rare: only a handful known. The reverse double struck. Good very fine

Ex Peter Guber Collection.

In 423 BC the temple of Hera at Argos burned to the ground, the result of an accidental fire set by her priestess Chrysis. A new temple was constructed nearby and the Argives took the opportunity to commission a cult statue from their most celebrated sculptor, Polyclitus. The statue was fashioned from ivory and gold and was regarded as a companion to the famous statue of Olympian Zeus sculpted by Phidias. Pausanias described the statue of Hera at Argos in considerable detail. He mentioned, among other things, that she wore a stephane ornamented with the Graces and the Hours. The staters of Argos undoubtedly depict the head of the much-admired cult statue, even though it was necessary to simplify the decoration of the stephane. The two dolphins on the reverse represent a punning allusion to Delphic Apollo, who was also worshipped at Argos.

The longest day of the year was shadowed by the clouds of the ongoing storm. Hot and static-y air is everywhere. Not fighting it, but embracing it. Yoga classes at a minimum of four days a week now. Hour long bike rides around the lakes and surrounding towns. On my next one I'll flatten pennies at the local train stop. Eat an ice cream sandwich on the same bench that I did when I did the same at age 11. Now I'll only be paying thrice the price.

Summer's been kind. These days I'm not bending around both sides of the desk as much. Mostly teaching. Finishing that 40 page paper on comparing monotheistic, transtheistic and the hybrid of these value systems' views on marital infidelity. Summer's going to be quiet this year. Organizing a portfolio, studying for exams & more reading. I still wonder what will be next?

This is a 50mm f/1.8 mounted backwards on my 70-200mm f2.8L ii with 77mm to 67 step down ring to a 67mm to 52mm reversing ring. This allows me take extreme closeups. At a 5:1 ratio, I think? The problem with this set up is I have to be right on top of the subject to focus. Just a few milimeters. Not quite ideal for a live subject. It would probably become frightened and flee!
