At the shore before the sun is up is the most peaceful place I can think of. The coming sun was just pinking up the sky. Fisherman were making their first casts of the day. So much beauty, yet for long while I did not take any shots. There are some times the camera is not meant to be raised, some moments are for the eyes and mind only.

Down the hill from the cottage again - taking WAY too many shots of a Sunset, again, when I hear someone whistling and lookup to see this guy paddling in front of me. Thought the scene was going to be ruined, but decided to hang out a little longer - glad I did.
Witnessing a sunrise like this always brings me to contemplation and a sense of reverence for this beautiful world we all share.

Despite being reduced to its bare bones, the West Pier is still a beautiful structure that stops people in their tracks. This image was finished with Topaz Restyle to lift the colours on a grey day.

The quote is by Martha Graham and I find it beautiful and so true. To French speakers, the accent in the title is not a typing error! (The word should actually be spelled "révérence", but "rêve" means dream).

I missed my flight and scrapped my Autumn holiday to Dorset Coast. For once I felt being stuck in the island! This morning a visit to old friend Ballaglass Glen changed my mind. It reinforced my belief in the fact that landscape photography is all about being there with the right light. No matter how many times you have been to a spot you can always find something new if you look hard enough.

Made from 36 tons of African black granite, the whale tails scupture is called "Reverence", referring to the fragility of the earth. Their presence along a major freeway in the only New England state without a coast, makes them humorous, ironic, and uniquely Vermont.
'In The Light of Reverence'
I took this photograph at the end of a very gloomy, rainy day in Abu Dhabi. I decided to visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in hope to capture some reflections at the open prayer area but in the absence of sunlight, that didn't look as good as I had hoped. It looked like a hopeless case and I was ready to pack my gear and leave when the rain suddenly stopped and the clouds opened up just enough to let the sun illuminate the giant minarets for a minute or so; I quickly reacted and snapped a few bracketed shots of this dramatic scene.
Planning and anticipation in photography is everything, but luck is just as important.
