Building more frames in the workshop. All materials are reclaimed: 100 year old wood from barns and buildings. Glass from old window panes. Only the glue and wire on back are new. No fake aging here.
Some were built for award frames for a customer, others were for homeowners' pictures.
Volunteers sorting shoes to be used in the re-use a shoe program. Volunteers had to take out any shoes with heels over 3 inches as well as any flip flops or sandals.
The spare parts MINI ART MUSEUM celebrates Big Art Day for Youth Art Month during Contemporary Art Month in San Antonio, Texas. On March 3, 2016 we visited School of Science and Technology-Discovery (art teacher: Kristi Garcia) & Nimitz Middle School (art teacher: Eric Cavazos) in San Antonio, Texas. Exhibition, “That Thing On The Side Of The Road” curated by Hills Snyder. Students went on a tour of the museum and participated in a creative reuse project inspired by the exhibition. Lifecycle Building Center's 2017 Annual Fundraiser to support LBC's Nonprofit Material Match Program, which connects usable building materials destined for landfills with nonprofits, community organizations, schools and houses of faith that can use them for their facility renovation and construction projects.
Austin Creative Reuse hosted two materials drive for Austin educators: school teachers (public, private, charter), after school teachers, day care providers, etc. They received materials for use in their classrooms and programs. We collected materials from the community and local businesses and distributed to Austin area educators. They were so appreciative and we were happy to support the community.
