The Adaptive Reuse Exhibit grand opening event on Friday, September 30, 2022 took place at the Barclay Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Today's world is becoming a paperless environment and becoming a more environmentally friendly place. Many people use these reusable bags at the grocery stores instead of the paper or plastic bags. People do not want to waste materials unless they are recyclable and instead resort to these bags. This is considered a pro-social behavior because it helps the environment.

A good use of an old pot

I'd been spending a lot of time tweaking the positioning of the Origin-8 gary bars, but came to the conclusion that there really isn't a way for me to arrange them so that they'd be comfortable on the ramps and the drops. So I pulled them and replaced them with another pair of Nitto B135s (there aren't that many rando-style bars out there, so it was pretty inevitable that I'd migrate back to the old reliable.)

This meant that I had to pull the cork tape off the gary bars so I could pull the levers and move them over, but Selev tape has a super-sticky glue on it, and removing that tape caused it to disintegrate. Fortunately, I'd saved the cork tape from the old B135s, and this tape (a no-name cork tape that I bought from Rivendell last spring) was still in wrappable condition, despite being wrecked a couple of times and being shellacked to within an inch of its life.

So the new bars have now got old tape, plugs & brake levers.

All food sold at Hillside is served on reusable dishes, which are then washed and used over and over.

I spent most of the day working on this. Frustration was high! Between not being able to get the measurements right and, running out of ink, and several tries, this is what I ended up with . I am not happy with it, but it was a learning experience. I am going to redo it with some changes. Each window is a different size and my images ended up being way out of proportion. But, at least AI did learn a few things.

My new plan is to use the same images, size them all the same--about 3x5 inches and make a five window mat. Hopefully i won't spend as much time as I did today.

It's pretty simple really, The ReUse Project is about finding multiple uses for things and throwing nothing away that doesn't have to be. ReUsing is kind of like Recycling, only we arent geting rid of things, we are finding new uses for them.
