A few years ago a client wanted me to take her entertainment center cabinet to the dump. Rather than make that trip I stored the boards in my workshop. I was thinking of making my mother shelves for her storage shed. Then this client asked for shelves in her closet and as it turned out the boards from the entertainment center were an exact fit. I didn't even have to cut the wood. The client admired the finish.

Even brokenplates were reused.

Most likely as part of the City's attempt to get Buffalo ReUse to obtain a Second-Hand Dealer's License, the Fire Department has condemned the building at 296 E. Ferry because of a non-functioning sprinkler system and combustible materials inside the building.

Kept the birthday cap around just for fun.

The bag does make the keys kinda bulky but with the added bonus that I can always find my keys in my purse. (And of course that the bag is ALWAYS with me.)

A reusable Tote Bag for my daughter's teacher. She was in Australia once and loved it. Her class is the Wallaby's. This fabric has Kangaroos, but they are the Wallaby's cousins so I thought it was acceptable.

This project began as the mixed-use restoration/adaptive reuse of the deeply historically significant International Headquarters Building of the Mosaic Templars, an African-American fraternal order who provided insurance and business loans to black citizens and entrepreneurs in the early decades of the 20th century. The program included a museum dedicated to African-American entrepreneurial and cultural heritage, 2nd story offices, and a restoration of the 3rd story auditorium. Two weeks into construction, the building was burned nearly to the ground, after standing empty nearly thirty years. A new building using modern steel/concrete/veneer construction was designed and built, also "restoring" the former State Headquarters, which burned in the 1980s. Though some modernists would argue against such construction, the closely-matched exterior (and interior--the ballroom was also rebuilt) is absolutely essential to the mission of the museum, and to heal the hurt of the fire and the greater destruction of the African-American "downtown" which once centered around the site.
