Remove the strong core of the fluffy part. Not all yarns will have this, but this brand does. You need to hunt for strong, thread-y parts in the fluff, then pull them out.

I started out playing with some leftover promotional posters for a craft event in Philly. I made a batch of large envelopes by sewing the edges. Then thought, "Hmm.... what if I fold them up a bit? Oh, look it's a pocket! A pocket book!" Here's pocket book number one. I imagine I'll organize odds and ends into these in the same way I use my envelope journals.
The PSU ReUse Room is a student volunteer-run store that facilitates the donation and distribution of used office and school supplies. Students, faculty, and staff come to the ReUse room for free binders, notebooks, folders, and other supplies, helping to reduce waste while also helping cash-strapped students save money.
With a closure ceremony planned for Oct. 4, the remainder of the Mound Site will be turned over to the Miamisburg Mound Community Improvement Corporation (MMCIC), a community reuse organization. Meanwhile, the DOE Office of Legacy Management will conduct long-term surveillance of the site.
Every day the builders heap debris into the skip outside my house, and every evening I rescue items which are just calling for reuse.

The 3rd Annual Fashion Trashion event at the University of Minnesota, Morris. This event is run by the Studio Art folks, who have students in the intro 3-D studio course create costumes out of recycled, reused, or repurposed materials. This is a always a huge success, with lots of really creative work and a ton of fun for the audience.
Jess Larson is the MC, Jennie Nellis taught the course this year, and the judges are Troy Goodnough (Sustainability Coordinator), Jennifer Deane (History), Jacquie Johnson (Chancellor), Ray Schultz (Theatre), and Hilda Ladner (Multi-ethnic Programs)
