Pose in picture by Del May!
Returned from the dead, Gopiraté finds himself with a mouthful of sand, and he can't move a muscle, but he's alive.
Two seconds later he is pounced upon by his loving chien Gomutt who is overjoyed to see his master suddenly appear buried in the sand where he was pineing over his jolly rodger.
He gives him a big dog kiss smothering his master in saliva (eugh!) and starts digging him out like a long lost bone.
But at that very moment... unseen to the loving couple... a hand appears above them...
This 132 year old pioneer tabernacle in Provo, Utah, was severely burned 5 years ago and now has been resurrected to become the new Provo City Center Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm looking forward to being a part of the open house and dedication, and to attending in the future.

Le christ se relève de sa propre mort, alors que les soldats qui gardent son tombeau, sont endormis... Il tient la bannière de la résurrection de sa main gauche et bénit l'humanité de sa main droite.
The George Inn in Maulden, Bedfordshire re-opened on 1 Aug 2016.
The Grade 2 listed 16th century building had been closed since 2011.
Resurrection Fern waiting for the next rain to resurrect and come back to life. The resurrection fern gets its name because it can survive long periods of drought by curling up its fronds and appearing desiccated, grey-brown and dead. However, when water is present, the fern will uncurl and reopen, appearing to "resurrect" and restoring itself to a vivid green color within about 24 hours.
Joyeuses Pâques!!
Happy Easter!!

i first took this photo in 2003 with a 1-megapixel camera. i thought i could do better...dunno if i succeeded!

Lately I've backtracked to some early DSLR's with CCD sensors like this 8MP Canon 30D which makes a fun and bargain combo with even older M42 lens options.
A marvel exceeding great is this withal to my soul—
Men dwell on the water afar from the land, where deep seas roll.
Wretches are they, for they reap but a harvest of travail and pain,
Their eyes on the stars ever dwell, while their hearts abide in the main.
Often, I ween, to the Gods are their hands upraised on high,
And with hearts in misery heavenward-lifted in prayer do they cry.
(Longinus excerpt from Arimaspea)

Aristeas, a somewhat mythical personage in ancient Greece, said to have lived in the time of Cyrus and Croesus, or, according to some, ca. 690 B.C.
We are chiefly indebted to Herodotus (iv. 13-15) for our knowledge of him and his poem Arimaspeia. He belonged to a noble family of Proconnesus, an island colony from Miletus in the Propontis, and was supposed to be inspired by Apollo.
He travelled through the countries north and east of the Euxine, and visited the Hyperboreans, Issedonians and Arimaspians, who fought against the gold-guarding griffins. An important historical fact which seems to be indicated in his poem is the rush of barbarian hordes towards Europe under pressure from their neighbours. Twelve lines of the poem are preserved in Tzetzes and Longinus.
Wonderful stories are told of Aristeas. At Proconnesus, he fell dead in a shop; simultaneously a traveller declared he had spoken with him near Cyzicus; his body vanished; six years afterwards, he returned. Again disappearing, 240 years later he was at Metapontum, and commanded the inhabitants, to raise a statue to himself and an altar to Apollo, whom he had accompanied in the form of a raven, at the founding of the city.
