This baller hauler is a café racer style 1969 Volvo Amazon 122S restomod, ready to kick some ass and take some names.
Replete with roll cage, racing seat and a dual exhaust, this beast is anything but your average family grocery getter.
Shout out to @Jonathan Elliott for teaming up on this café racer style Amazon wagon build-off challenge. It continues to be really fun to see how differently we both approach the same concept!
I hope you enjoy!
In the tradition of updating your favorite ride, this bike has been upgraded with modern dual pivot brakes, but otherwise 60’s/70’s/80’s components with half step & granny gears with a real hill climbing low. The bike rides as nice as many of the better modern steel road bikes so it’s a treat to make this as road worthy to modern times as befits this classic.
Engine bay with Ford 351 cid V8 installed. The Holley 4 bbl carburetor is in evidence. You need an oldtimer (like me) to service the carburetor and ignition system. Strictly analog.
Visit to the renowned Woodward Dream Cruise on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. While the official "cruise day" (Up to 40,000 cruise vehicles) is Saturday, Dream Cruise events take place for the entire week preceding the big day, and I made a visit with my friend Dale on Wednesday, August 12. A weekday is much less crowded than the official Dream Cruise Saturday and still showcases numerous interesting vehicles both cruising Woodward and parked in scores of locales along the route.

Every now and then we have an offworld customer looking to run a new light-speed engine tune or upgrade from a core propulsion system. Sir Vader of Darth brought us a salvage-title TIE looking for the works, which resulted in this exciting restomod project.
The build spec includes a Stage 2 Twin Ion Engine tune for post-empire Gen 1 Tie Fighters, light weight wing supports, all new electronics and new stealth panel paint including exo-atmospheric nano protection and a Gen 2 fully pressurized cabin update.
I hope you enjoy, and May the Force be With You!
I bought a pre built Lego F40, with missing pieces. Using what I had on hand I upgraded it. I tried to make it look closer to an F50 but it falls short of the mark. I may change it more it or just scrap it entirely. I haven't decided yet. Let me know what you think of it in the comments.

Some nice Art Deco accents on this meticulously restored cab over engine. It is a pickup with a custom built bed.

I built this for the MOCAround challenge on Instagram and thought it'd be fun to share it here. This week's theme was restomod so I built Hoovie's restomod Plymouth Superbird in the new standard: babyscale. Hope y'all enjoy!

At the Amboy Depot Days Car Show, 2019. This one and the '55 in the previous photos, have the same owners.
The owner has had this car for 51 years. He bought it for $100 when he was 14. Caffeine & Octane, March 2022
Updated pictures of a reworked body: If you have followed me or this car you know it has taken many body shapes. Originally trying to do some kind of wide body thing…FAIL! Dialed back to resto…MEH! Always happy with the internals, just couldn’t quite figure out what I wanted out of the body. I’m pleased with this version still maintaining a little bit of a modern look, however if I was to do it over…Thank you to everyone who has supported this build through all of it’s changes and the constructive criticism that pushed me to keep improving it.

I cannot overstate how nice this truck is. It belongs to a guy who moved into my area in recent years and has become a friend. The engine is a far-from-stock Ford 302. It has independant front suspension and a number of other mechanical modifications to make it pleasant to drive. The paint is near flawless, and was done over ten years ago.
At the Hennepin, Illinois Car Show, July 4, 2016.
Happy Truck Thursday, everyone!
