Imagine all traffic had to use the I-84 bridge. We'll have this represent our largest resistor, the 470 Ω one. Traffic would move slowly because of this resistance
Holes drilled for resistor and thermistor. Resistor hole was drilled to 17/64th and resistor hole was drilled to 7/64th
6W resistor string is shown. 29W of 2W ceramic-cased resistors was later added. The outer corrugated box is removed for this photo. The resistor strings are heated by 60Hz AC power, stepped down by the stepdown transformer.

Growing up out in the country comes with strange eccentricities like having deer spotters’ bright headlights shine into our yards and windows; our lives. The abrasive lights catch deer, as well as people, doing what they do in their natural habitats. The light freezes us in time and the spotters make judgments about what they see. Too often, these judgments are made blindly with little perspective.
My journey through motherhood has illuminated the primal voice inside. My Resistor/Capacitor Series is an illustrative narration, through collage and darkroom photography, of my inner dialogue and the disconnect between our inherent animal instincts and learned social niceties. We are hard-wired with instincts. In electric circuitry, a capacitor embraces and holds. A resistor introduces resistance into an electric circuit. To be a capacitor, in my series, means that animal instincts are validated by honoring and trusting in them.
My process requires little digital work and is very much hands on. I cut and paste interesting and meaningful materials like butterfly wings, hair, teeth, breast pump tubing, raw egg yolk, oil, as well as other found scrap items onto a plate of glass furnished with a transparency of human forms in order to create a new and unusual environment.

The screen grid resistors were getting pretty crispy, and the grid leak resistors had drifted out as well.
Those 150Ω 7w resistors on the cathodes are stock, and not on the AA270 schematic. Neither is that Mallory electrolytic connecting the cathodes of V7 and V8.

If installing LED bulbs in your car causes your blinkers to blink fast or causes other electrical problems you may need to install a Load resistor to correct these problems. Since LED bulbs draw much less current then standard incandescent bulbs your electrical computer system may think that your bulbs are not working. The Load resistor should resolve these problems.
The screen grid resistor for this output tube was completely shorted out. The smaller 1.5k resistor had drifted a bit out of spec. It’s best to keep the output stage as consistent as possible, so I swapped it out, too.
I've deliberately burned up power resistors with my Sencore PR57 before but this one was crazy. It smoked a little at first and then just glowed like this for about 10 minutes, slowly drifting while I kept adjusting for the maximum constant load.
I blew the original fuse by re-setting the magnetic breaker a couple of times in quick succession. After this I was unable to find a good replacement; they were blowing left and right under the slightest stress.
I shopped around for a good 4A breaker, avoiding anything from China as usual. I was surprised to see that the fuse holder was connected to the transformer secondary, but someone who knows more about these probably wouldn't be.

Now we'll add in another bridge, I-291. This bridge also has congestion (resistance,) but at the end of the day we've opened up more opportunities for traffic to flow. Thus we expect traffic to speed up, representing an overall drop in resistance. That's how adding a 470Ω and 150Ω resistor together can cause 112Ω of resistance. Even though both roads are bad, having both is better than having only one.

Hoping to use the STM32CubeProgrammer to erase and reflash! Strange how a small discreet resistor looks massive at SMD scale. None of the points needed for recovery are broken out to pads. A board that is designed to be scraped if the firmware gets corrupted, even though the hardware is good. Because it's cheaper to throw it in a landfill and make a new one than pay a tech to reflash it! All the time every generation loses the engineering skills that were once common. IF it works tying BOOT0 back to a 0v state will be another mission ...
