I built a mini computer that flashes red LEDs so that you can read text when it's waved back and forth really fast. This photo set documents this process.
VPG announces that its Powertron resistor brand has introduced the first seven devices in its S Series of precision foil current sense resistors. The white "chip" is the resistor pack. The resistive ink tracings on this one are good. The chip's Pin 1 is the upper right. The tracing that goes from Pin 4 to Pin 10 is the one that makes the tach fail if it goes bad.

Seen at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Maine
The Seashore Trolley Museum, located in Kennebunkport, Maine, United States, is the world's oldest and largest museum of mass transit vehicles.
While the main focus of the collection is trolley cars, it also includes rapid transit trains, trolley buses, and motor buses.
I left the SIL resistor in the end, but the Micro had big issues. Someone had reseated it and bent a load of pins in the process, which contributed somewhat to the whole "non-working" aspect of the synth. When I reseated it properly it became apparent that the IC socket had been corroded to the point that it was useless. The fix was to replace it, which wasn't so hard once the original was broken up with cutters.
Transistors, diodes, resistors, and lots of wiring. No computer chips in this 1960s technological wonder. This ring contained instrumentation that monitored all flight conditions and system "health." This is located at the top of the third stage.

Today's challenge problem in series-parallel circuits.
For extra credit: build, calculate, and measure total resistance across a hypercube.
I built this resistor cube years ago. Each of the resistors is 1000 ohms, and they are soldered together to form the cube. Makes a great demonstration and training aid in class.
