Resides and breeds in south and north east India and Sri Lanka; widespread in non-breeding season in southern Asia from southern Pakistan across India east to Indonesia.
It is much smaller than Great White and Dalmatian Pelican.
The Spot-billed Pelican is a relatively small pelican but still a large bird. It is 125–152 cm (49–60 in) long and a weight of 4.1–6 kg (9-13.2 lbs).
It is a bird of large inland and coastal waters, especially large lakes. At a distance they are difficult to differentiate from other pelicans in the region although it is smaller but at close range the spots on the upper mandible, the lack of bright colours and the greyer plumage are distinctive. In some areas these birds nest in large colonies close to human habitations.
Like most other pelicans, it catches fish in its huge bill pouch while swimming at the surface. Unlike the Great White Pelican it does not form large feeding flocks and is usually found to fish singly or in small flocks. Groups may however sometimes line up and drive fish towards the shallows.
You love this bird specially in action, it is royal.
This asian crocodile resides in the Singapore Zoo. I was fortunate to have my Sigma 150mm f2.8 Macro lens on when the croc decided to swim very slowly towards me. The lighting was very poor , I had to shoot at a slow shutter speed of 1/40s to capture this shot.
I submitted this shot into DPChallenge's Hidden Gem-1000th challenge which had 1,108 entries and this shot came in a creditable 20th position. You can view the results here:

Here resides Elephant Rock (now sans its trunk) and the Three Sisters formations. Unfortunately, low tide was during early afternoon so I missed getting the really good shots, but these will do as postcards.

The University of Pittsburgh resides in the Oakland section of the city. It shares its boundary with Carnegie Mellon University. The Cathedral of Learning is the most dominant structure in this part of the city and arguably so for everything east of Philadelphia. The Stephen Foster Memorial stands in Front of the Cathedral and appears to be part of it.
This door is just one small entry into the building. I have never observed it to be for use of the public.

Residing in the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest is among the most beautiful of all butterflies, the blue morpho butterfly. They can also be found in Central and South America. What is truly fascinating about these critters is that they actually aren't even blue at all. More on that in a bit. There are 29 known species of blue morpho in the rainforests to date. While not endangered... yet, they are faced with challenges from over collecting, climate change, and habitat destruction.
First the Stats...

Length: Up to 4 inches
Wingspan: Up to 8 inches
Lifespan: Up to 115 days
Now on to the Facts!
1.) Cultures view the blue morpho differently. Some believe that they bring wishes and others subscribe to the belief that they are a host to an evil spirit.
2.) Blue morphos are poisonous, if eaten. This helps them, defensively.
3.) The small tufts of hair on the caterpillar's body can cause mild irritation to sensitive skin. But it's nothing to write home about.
4.) In what is called constructive interference, when light shines on the small ridges on the butterfly's scales, only the blue waves are reflected back. So they aren't actually blue at all, it's just the prism effect from light waves that makes them so beautifully blue.
5.) The outside of their wings is actually a series of brown pigments.
But wait, there's more on the blue morpho butterfly!

This couple reside at Reifel Bird Sanctuary on Westham Island in Ladner, British Columbia. About the birds. Description: Sandhill Cranes are tall, long-necked, heavy-bodied birds, measuring about 45 inches from bill tip to tail. Lesser Sandhill Cranes average about 10 percent shorter in height. During summer, adult Sandhill Cranes have rust-colored bodies, wings, and tails subtly shaded with gray; necks are entirely gray. In winter, rust coloration is mostly absent, replaced by pure gray. Variable amounts of reddish-brown may appear in the wings. In all seasons, legs and bills are black, and crown is red. Juvenile Sandhill Cranes have mostly rusty brown upperparts and gray underparts, with no red cap.

This resided elevated and behind the Vice President in the old Senate. It was in a beautiful room full of gold and red and white and blue inside Congress. When I saw it, I knew I had to take a picture of such intricate work. If the room hadn't been roped off, I really wanted to get a picture with George Washington's picture in the background under one of the eagle's wings.
