These pictures are reporting the one day long workshop on E-Textile and textile sensors for wearable technologies organized by MUSE FabLab for Centro Moda Canossa and their students on digital fashion expertise. The workshop has been held by Riccardo Marchesi and Elisabetta Mori of Plug & Wear, italian company specialized in design and production of Interactive textiles.

Police Forces up and down the country have always known that engagement with the public is vital to preventing crime. Initiatives such as Citizen Focussed Policing are geared towards solid public engagement to improve outcomes. Technology has a part to play here, and systems such as Police Information Point can really help to increase exposure and feedback.

Álbum com 77 fotografias, reportando a exposição de miniaturas alusivas aos Bombeiros, patente no Centro Comercial Dolce Vita, por ocasião da realização, em Coimbra (Pavilhão Municipal Multidesportos Mário Mexia), do 42.º Congresso da Liga dos Bombeiros Portugueses (LBP).
A exposição, patrocinada pela Federação dos Bombeiros do Distrito de Coimbra, incluía mais de mil miniaturas, para além de outros objectos alusivos aos Bombeiros e à sua actividade.
As peças pertencem a três coleccionadores do distrito de Coimbra, bombeiros da Lousã, de Mira e de Tábua.
Este é o primeiro de três álbuns dedicados à exposição em causa, 77 fotos com miniaturas de bombeiros.
Interessa recordar que a realização da reunião magna da LPB incluiu outra actividade que chamou à Baixa de Coimbra centenas de pessoas, interessadas em ver de perto os veículos com que se combatiam os incêndios, há muitas décadas atrás, o mesmo valendo para as ambulâncias.
Referimo-nos à Mostra de veículos antigos de várias corporarações de bombeiros do distrito de Coimbra.

A riqueza do espólio patente na mostra e a significativa adesão dos munícipes levou o Presidente da Câmara Municipal de Coimbra, Manuel Machado, a propor a criação, na cidade, de um Museu de Homenagem aos Bombeiros, repto lançado ao discursar na sessão de encerramento do 42.º congresso nacional da Liga dos Bombeiros Portugueses.
Depois de ter observado tão valioso património, que está naturalmente disperso e apenas visitável em circunstâncias excepcionais e esporádicas, Manuel Machado afirmou que a cidade se sentiria muito honrada, caso “a Câmara Municipal e a Liga dos Bombeiros Portugueses acordassem uma forma duradoura de expor permanentemente aquele espólio em local condigno, como Museu de Homenagem aos Bombeiros Portugueses”.
A visita a tal Museu dos Bombeiros deveria ser sujeita ao pagamento de ingresso dos visitantes e as receitas daí advenientes poderiam reverter para as associações humanitárias de todo o país que disponibilizassem voluntariamente o depósito e guarda do seu património. Isto poderia constituir uma interessante fonte de receitas para a actividade dos Bombeiros. “E Coimbra, que é Património Mundial da Humanidade, oferece-se, caso seja do interesse dos Bombeiros Portugueses, para acolher e cooperar na criação e instalação de um Museu com essa finalidade”, destacou Manuel Machado.

I couldn't resist any more, and bought a nice used ultra-wide (not fisheye) lens. Ultra-wide doesn't quite work when the subject is at an angle, or has things poking out at you - there's still some distortion. It would also help if there wasn't so much clutter in the background.
Note to myself: Both the K-x and K-r underexpose badly with the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 in low light - the K-x slightly worse, +1EV compensation was needed most of the time.
